I got my new LG Ultimate 2 Android phone yesterday. I turned it on, and it found our home wifi (no cell service where we live). When I entered my gmail address, all the apps I have loaded on my old tablet flew over, including the Fitbit app which doesn't sync with the watch on that tablet. As soon as I turned on the Bluetooth on the phone, syncing began! I am excited to have my Charge HR and new phone, as I will be traveling on family business this week. Since this phone is not on Fitbit's list, I'll work with it some while traveling, and post again.

LG G2, Android Lollipop 5.0.2 and Fitbit app 2.5, Fitbit One (v. 6.60)

Sometimes it syncs, sometimes it doesn't. I can sync using the pc (though, that failed one time). It says it can't find the tracker. I've done all the troubleshooting when it's not working. Got it back once after uninstalling, reinstalling, removing device, restarting bluetooth, rebooting the phone, re-adding device and doing two unit restarts. Synced fine after that for about 12 hours. Then lost it again the next day and couldn't get it to find the device for about 8 hours. Got it synced via the pc and then about 1 hour later, the phone found it again. I had closed the app, but didn't go through all the rebooting/restarting/deleting/re-adding fun since I was contemplating returning the unit if I needed to do this every day. No clue why it suddenly synced again. So... problem for me appears to be intermittent and can't pinpoint the cause or why it starts working again.

Hoping it gets resolved soon. Need to decide whether to return the unit. I know I can sync with the pc (and it can store the data for 30 days), but part of my decision to get this unit was to have quick, easy access.

I have an LG G2, and just did the latest software update on it. My app says it is up to date. However, since the software update, my phone seemingly doesn't want to recognize my flex. I keep getting the "device not found" message and asked to cancel or restart Bluetooth (neither of which works to fix it, by the way). I restarted my FitBit itself on Saturday, and it recognized it for the day, but was right back to hone on Sunday.

I would like to get a Flex for my mother who has an LG Viper 4G LTE phone.  Will she be able to sync using this phone?  I don't see it on the list, but I was hoping she could anyways!  🙂

Thank you!

I can't say for sure if your mother's LG Viper will sync with a Flex, but I DO know that the LG Ultimate 2 I just bought syncs perfectly with my Charge HR, and that phone is not on the list either. Check carefully the specs for her phone (can do online on LG's site, if I recall correctly). The phone must have Android 4.3 or better and Bluetooth 4.0 or better with BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy), also must support BLE API which allows third party apps to access the BLE. When I researched to purchase my phone, I didn't see BLE API listed among the specs, but they did say something like the phone could access thousands of apps from Google Play. Good luck! You could probably return the Flex if it doesn't sync.

LG G2 (LS980), Fitbit Flex. Flex synced perfectly until today. Here's what's changed: Yesterday morning Sprint pushed an upgrade to Lollipop (5.0.2) out. I applied it with some trepidation, but syncing continued to work *until 4:21 today*. Now it won't sync with the phone, though it will do so happily to the PC dongle. Fitbit app is version 2.5, updated April 7.

@phs3 -- I had the same issue after Verizon upgraded the LG G2 to Lollipop.  It was eventually fixed by getting the latest version of the FitBit app (which you have) and then clearing the app data.  That last part was important...just having the current app version wasn't enough, I had to be sure that the app data was cleared.  I think if you try that, it might help.

@JimBit

Thanks 10**6 -- that did it! I had to login again, of course, but now it works. *big sigh of relief* (Not that it would have killed me to not be able to sync while out walking, but hey, it's part of the attraction, right?)

Using LG Tribute with a Charge HR with all day syncing turned off to save battery life. I sync four or five times daily and don't have a hint of a problem.

Have phone notifications turned on and up until the last Android Update it's been bulletproof. It worked so well and just turned my ringtone off and rely on my Fitbit to tell me when I have a call.

That was until a while ago. Now, for whatever reason the Call Notifications box turns itself off. I only notice when I see I have a missed call, and double check the settings. Sure enough, the little red check mark is missing. I select it, it thinks about it and it reconnects my phone.

I put my phone to sleep, a phone call comes in with no notification, I check and the red mark is gone.

I figure there is some issue with the Bluetooth connection being spotty somehow, but the only thing that's changed on my end is Fitbit's Android App.

I just got the Charge HR (today) and have an LG/G3 with Lollipop - the sync appears to work but not the notifications.   I'm disappointed as that's a feature I looked forward to using as my phone is generally in my purse and I don't hear incoming phone calls when in stores, etc.

The online support chat said "be patient, we're working on it".  I understand that the issue may be complicated but it appears to have gone on a very long time (based on posts to forums).  I got this device for the notification features and would like to feel some sense of confidence that the issue will be resolved before my devices are obsolete.

I was about ready to return the Fitbit but my husband convinced me to wait - time will tell if I'm making the correct decision.

@hps001I recommend confirming that you are running Android 4.3+ on your LG G3, as per our Android supported devices page, is required for your G3 to receive call notifications on your Charge HR. Additionally, I recommend following my step-by-step instructions in this post to set up the call notifications feature on your G3.

If you continue experience problems, I suggest confiming that you are running the latest version of the Fitbit App for Android and that your Charge HR is on the latest firmware. Also, I propose restarting your Charge HR, toggling your Bluetooth off and on in your G3's settings, restarting your phone, and trying to set up again.

Everyone -- We have release a new update to the Fitbit App for Android (v2.8). Please confirm that you are running the latest version of the Fitbit Android App and that you have the latest firmware on your trackerHope this helps!

I would love it if the LG G Vista were to become a compatible device. Purchased a New phone and my fit it is not compatible!😞

@ErickFitbit - I'm running 5.0.2 and I tried all of the step-by-step instructions PLUS had a 30+ minute chat session with a support person.   Nothing I did ever ever gave me the option to turn on Call Notification and the device continued to reject any force pair of Bluetooth.

HOWEVER, the app update on July 23rd appeared to fix this issue.  I still see some strange behaviour in the app as the "call notification" slider appears to move back-and-forth but overall stays on.

@mom2brynnancjWe're always working to test and add more Android devices to our lists of supported devices. Additionally, if your LG G Vista supports Bluetooth Low Energy (AKA Bluetooth 4.0) I recommend giving our Android Beta App a try!

@hps001First off, thank you for the time and effort to troubleshoot with us and on your own! Secondly, I am happy to hear that with the latest update (v2.8) you are now able to see and toggle the call notifications feature on your device! Question, are you now receiving the call notifications on your tracker? Thank you for sharing the great news! Robot Very Happy

@Paul8511 Hmmm. That's interesting. Have you tried clearing the Google Playstore cache on your phone? After searching the internet, it looks like it helped some users.

Let me know if that helps!

I have done all this but now when I try to download the app the error message is "Fitbit" could not be downloaded due to an error(489).

@Paul8511As @RickyFitbitalready suggested clearing your Play Store cache, after reviewing some tips from other Android users who experienced the same error code online I recommend you remove your Google account from your phone and add it back after removal.

In order to remove your Google account, I suggest doing the following:

Go to Settings > Accounts - tap Google > Tap Google account > menu dots > delete account.

Once account is deleted, re-add Google account with the add account.

Hope this helps to get you back on track! Smiley Very Happy
