I'd like to help you find out what is happening. Could you please go a bit more in-depth into what is happening? Are you trying to locate friends via email or through Facebook? Are you getting any sort of error message?
Please keep in mind that your friend's must have a Fitbit account to be able to find them.
As a work around, you could look for them using a computer. Have your friends go into their Dashboard through a computer. Once they have logged it, have them click on their picture on the upper-left corner and then send you the link to their profile. It should look something like this: https://www.fitbit.com/user/XXXXX.
Alternatively, you could send the link of your profile to your friends so that they add you.
