Had almost 4000 steps. When sat down to relax and update. Steps are 2000. What's up with that?

Hello @Nursepll, let me start by giving you a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community. I'm wondering from where it was missing your steps? It was from the app, from the Fitbit tracker or both?
Also let me know if you have experienced some sort of syncing issues? If you do, this might be just a delay to update your information on your app.
If the issue persists on a daily basis, please try the following steps if the issue is happening with your app:
Log out from your Fitbit app and go to your phone settings and access to the App manager option on your phone and look for the Fitbit app in your downloaded apps list. Once you are there, clear the app cache and data and finish this workaround by restarting your phone. When your phone has initialized again, go back to your app and try again.
Hope this helps. If the issue persist please let me know more details to find a solution.

Hello @Nursepll, thank you for providing me more details, if the issue happened also with your Fitbit tracker, I recommend to add to the previous suggestion, a restart on your tracker. I saw on your Community profile you have paired an Alta. So in case you need the steps to do a restart the following post will be helpful.
Hope this helps and let me know if the issue persists.
