Lost historic data after uninstalling app

Hi All,

 

I haven't been able to sync my Charge 3 for 2 months. I decided to try an uninstall/re-install of the app and miraculously it synced thereafter. However, I seemed to have lost just about all of the previous 2 months worth of data. The app shows a few days of say sleep info in the past week but there's a huge gap prior to this even though I've been wearing my fitbit the entire time.

 

I know fitbit has my data housed somewhere. I'd like to have that synced with my app. Any ideas how to go about troubleshooting this?

Thanks for bringing this up and sharing that you Charge 3 synced after reinstalling.

 

The data is stored in our servers and thus it should be loaded to your account the moment that you access it. Having said that, if you Fitbit did not sync to your account then that could explain why the data is missing. Fitbits can store minute-to-minute data to up to 7 days and daily totals for an additional 23 days, making it a total of 30 days. 

 

My question in this case would be if you ran the set up on your Charge 3 after uninstalling the app or did you only sync it to your account?

I'm not the person asking this question, but I have had a similar experience. I've been using my Fitbit Inspire HR for years. Suddenly, without me having done anything, my Fitbit asked me to "sign-up." I thought it was just a check-in kind of thing. Re-entered my info and the Fitbit started working again, except there's a 3 month gap in my sleep history (and probably other data). It picked up my history from March 2020 but dropped everything from then through the day it asked me to sign up again. Where'd the last 5 months of my data/history go? And, how do I get it back?
