Maps missing from gps-enabled activities

The new update seems to have prevented access to maps which used to be shown in the activity list...now all we have is the type of activity and the data when you click in. Even previously recorded activities which were showing maps up to yesterday now have no visible maps

I have now discovered that maps are still available if you click into each individual activity (just not shown at top level in activity list as previously). So another niggle rather than a game changer.

I agree this is inferior, the previous maps showed names of places and details of landmarks. The new maps are poor by comparison. Having just done several days of long distance walks, back to back most annoyed to find that maps which were there in old map are missing for some days. On those days as an example 32000 steps recorded but exercise activities which were there in old app are now blank. The new app seems inferior.

I still don't get maps.  I went on a run yesterday. No map.  It also calculated the distance incorrectly.
