Maximum cycling speed

The app recently updated on me.

After a bit of 'fun' getting it back to the metric settings and kj instead of calories I noticed that the app no longer shows the maximum speed reached during a cycle.

I am pretty sure that the old app showed average speed and max speed reached. Yesterday the help person said that the app never showed max speed, so did I imagine it?  The watch itself still shows max speed when closing a bike session, but the fun off taking a screen shot with max speed isn't there.

@TimCx you are not imagining things. The max speed was shown on the map under Speed tab:

Now, it looks like this:

Max speed was there in the old app for sure. Don't expect customer support to know their product 🤣

I also used the max speed and really liked seeing the speed at at certain sections of the single tracks I ride.   This is a very disappointing update.  Lost useful metrics.

I am now c9nsidering other devices that provide these metrics.

@I_Bowen other devices provide lot more metrics for cyclists and you can use speed sensor (attached to wheel) which is more accurate than GPS and doesn't depend on GPS (regardless GPS connection, you'll get speed and distance all time). Fitbit provides only basic metrics. There is no real-time elevation gain, no cadence, no power, no navigation (which usually provides information about sharp turns and upcoming climbs). Also, you can't attach Fitbit to handle bar because you will lose heart rate. Other devices can use external HR monitor so they are free to be moved. For cycling, Fitbit is a very basic option.
