Messaging app is greyed out in notification settings on the fit bit app how do I fix this?

prior to me factory resetting my phone I was able to check off my default messaging app in my Fitbit settings so that I can receive notifications on my watch when I receive a text message. After factory resetting my phone and installing the Fitbit app my default messaging app on my phone is grayed out in the Fitbit notification app settings  and I am unable to select that to receive text message notifications. Any reason why?.  i have rebooted my watch, still no luck

Hello @safizzle

Try logging out of the Fitbit App,Try turn your Bluetooth off, restart your phone then turn your Bluetooth back on. Now log back into your Fitbit App, tap your profile picture then scroll down and tap the name of your Fitbit Tracker. Next scroll down and tap notifications. Ensure the notifications you want are enabled. Now, while on the same page tap App Notifications and enable the app notifications you want.

Once your desired changes are made make sure you sync your Fitbit so that your Fitbit tracker will accept the changes.

😃 I’m hoping that helps. Please let me know

I have this same problem - Though I didn't factory reset my phone. Just suddenly the option for text messages (and everything listed as "default x app") in the list of notifications from apps is greyed out. I followed the steps above and that did not fix it.

Everyone has probably already figured it out but if not....Go to your fitbit app. Tap your profile pic (account). Select your device, notifications then turn off or disable text messages, calendar events and emails. Tap app notifications, find messages or any other app that might have been grayed out and check the box. That worked for me.
