Fitbit Update: 9/26/17
Hello, everyone! I wanted to make it known that I haven't forgotten about this issue with MobileRun. Our team is aware of this ongoing problem, however, I don't have a timeline for when there will be a fix available. I understand many of you are frustrated with this feature, and I hope to give you all more information soon. Thanks for your continued patience!
Just to be clear, this thread is for the MobileRun issue for when you initiate a Run/Walk, if you 'Pause' your activity and then 'Resume' after you finish, you will not see your map or some of your exercise data. Alternatively, this does not happen if you 'Pause' and 'Finish' your Run/Walk right away.
Fitbit Update: 7/20/17
Thanks everyone for providing the information requested about this MobileRun issue. It appears since the Android app version 2.43, users who initiate a MobileRun on their devices and later pause it at some point will not have all the data saved when syncing afterward. This data can include the map and distance data.
I really appreciate your cooperation and patience while our team works towards a resolution. I know many of you have been active on this thread and I want to make sure you know all your input has been very helpful in determining the factors. I will continue to update this thread when there is more information available. Thanks again for your help!

2.52 does not solve the issue.
@Rich_Laue: interesting - you seem to be the only person not affected by this bug (at least the only one who has posted here). Does the pace show up as 0:00 initially, as shown in the screenshots here?

@Rich_Laue: regarding the 0:00 pace issue, I'm referring to the screen that is displayed immediately after finishing tracking exercise. The distance and time are shown correctly, but the pace is not. If you open the same exercise log later (assuming it had been saved) it will be displayed correctly.

0:00 pace issue happens to me also. As I previously stated, in my case the GPS map will show upon finishing my exercise...but as I move from one screen to another and recheck the GPS map, it disappears. I still have the exercise recorded, as in 1 of 5 days, fat burn, time of exercise, etc, but the Map is gone. I'm wondering if when others experience the same problem, they aren't moving from a 4G situation to their home network (wifi). My wife and I have the same phone...an S6. We went for a walk this morning. Before I arrived back to the house, I turned off my WIFI and finished my exercise course on 4G and synced the Fitbit. My wife arrived home and let the house wifi connect (automatically) to her phone and go off the 4G data. She lost her map (after changing through a couple of Fitbit screens), I did not. After my phone synced with my 4G, I turned my Wifi back on. I still have my map. I've had other apps that I've viewing at home over 4G. If I get in the car and leave the home and try to continue my viewing of the same app, I often have to close the app and restart it over 4G. That's what I think may be happening with the GPS mapping function on the Fitbit. I'm not a programmer but has anyone else experienced the exact same issue?

The title causes the confusion.
So is there a different post for those of us who experience this with the app not recording a map when the activity is launched from the tracker?
1. Start walk or bike using tracker button on tracker without GPS (Charge 2). (Phone on user for map data to be synced to app.)
2. Begin activity
3. Hit pause using tracker button
4. Restart using tracker button
5. Stop activity using tracker button
6. No map or bizarre map appears on Fitbit app data (not correctly recorded from phone GPS). Map appears on Google fit app, so GPS working correctly.
Please tell me if there is a topic started for this. Or I will begin a new one. And unsub from this as I never start from the app itself.
Cheers

Okay. Like this one:
I had not at that point connected it with pausing. In the end it's the app as the tracker has no GPS.
And there is another posting I made about Map discrepancies being utterly ridiculous. So I'm making no further postings on this issue.
You know what? I'll give up. They'll either fix it (in the app) which will fix it for me most likely, or they won't. But it's not the tracker so I can't report that.
I just have to remember not to pause.
Hope they fix it for you all (and then probably for me).

Thanks. It's set to default. And actually the Google Fit app records the same activity with map perfectly. Automatically. Pity I can't import the map from there.
Cheers

Has 2.52 fixed anything or will I just not bother trying and stick to my trusty 2.42?

I tried it out with two different phones, their information showed respectively:
As mentoined, I get detailed information of the activity right after the activity. However, when I close the app and open it again I do not see any detailed information anymore.
This happens with my Alta HR.

I cannot get the map up at all anymore. My phone location/gps is on....but the app is saying it is off. Have re-started the Fitbit and logged off the app and then back on. No idea why it stopped working. Any ideas?

I have this exact same problem. It's been ongoing for months and is very frustrating. My most recent occurrence was on Saturday 8 July 2017. I ran a 4km fun run. Stopped and finished that run. Waited about 5 minutes before closing the screen and it saved. Random success!
Then I started a new run about 10 minutes later - this time covering 7kms over 53 minutes. Exactly the same process. I waited 5 minutes before changed the screen on my phone (took a screen shot which shows pace as 0:00) and then when I went back to the main fitbit screen, it was lost.
There is no warning either. It's gone and thats that.
