Multiple email addresses

The only option for migrating your account to Google requires using an email address that is not currently associated with an account on the Fitbit application.

Hi @FitbitUser1111 - the conversion allows using a Fitbit account email address in order to retain access to your historic data.

It is an awkward conversion, especially for multiple accounts who then can't login and out separately in the same way as you can with Fitbit, and some people have made new accounts and lost access to historical data.

Well I have one email which is not a Gmail address that I opened my Fitbit
account with in like 2012 and that's the one that has all or most of my
data.

At some point there seem to be an option to be able to log in with Gmail so
I did that figuring it that it would make it easier to coexist with other
apps and so on but basically that wasn't the account that I was using for
tracking everything I just thought that that was going to make things
easier I don't remember how long but that was but maybe 5 years ago or
something.

Now they're telling me that I need to use it Gmail address so I tried to
use my Gmail address if I already have and they're telling me now that well
that accounts already connected to your Gmail account and now you have to
make a another Gmail account in order to migrate everything into Google I
don't want another email account especially if all it's going to do is be
there just to accommodate Google and Fitbit it seems pretty ridiculous.

Best wishes,

- Avi

@FitbitUser1111 you where not suppose to create an account with your GMail address. You also did not have to change your log in to a GMail address. You wanted to change your log in type to a Google Account login. You have 2 options

Option 1 link to the help guide

  • Log into your second Fitbit account with your Gmail address
    1. From the Today tab ,
    2. tap Settings
    3. Under the "Your Account" section, tap Manage your account.
    4. Tap Delete account
    5.  Delete my account & data.
    6. Enter your Fitbit account password.
    7. You will receive an email confirmation that you want to delete your account.
    8. After you confirm, your Fitbit account will be deactivated for 7 days.
    9. Your data will be permanently deleted after 7 days. To recover your account, sign in during this period. After 7 days, your account cannot be recovered.
    10. You will have to wait at least 8 days.

Option 2 is to contact support you can also do this through the app

  • Ask them to delete your second account.
  • If you do this through Chat they can help you.

Once your second account has been deleted.

Go to the help guide

  • In the guide is a video,
  • Below the video are instructions.
  • You need a Google account to complete this process. Learn how to create a Google Account.

    1. Open the Fitbit app.
    2. Sign in to your Fitbit account.
    3. Tap Settings
    4.  Move account.
    5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Tip: It takes a few minutes to move Fitbit to your Google Account. If you change your mind, you can cancel until the final step.
