Hi,
I have Fitbit Versa and after recent firmware update, music control started to act weird.
Every time i connect my phone to watch under watch setting>Bluetooth>restore music control, it turns off automatically. Even if i try to keep this setting as Pair/on, after some time it turns off. Because of this music control is not working. I can't change songs or change volume level. Is this because of firmware update?

Hi @Anu_2191, it's nice to see you again participating here in the Community Forums.
I appreciate the details that were shared in your post. To better assist you with this and so we can move forward with this uncommon situation, can you please let me know when was the first time you experienced this and how many times since then? Which Android mobile device you're currently using? This occurred after your Fitbit app was updated? If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to re-setup this feature once again following the next steps:
In the meantime I receive your answers, please check the information that's specific on our help article: Why can't I control music with my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes.
Keep me posted and let me know if you have any additional questions.

Hi there, i'm having the same issue since the firmware update.
I can pair my phone (note 9) to versa (classic) but the connection only works for a few minutes until it drops the connection. This is really frustrating as one of the key reasons I bought a versa was because I could use it to control music on my phone.
I have tried the instructions you supplied, also reset the watch and deleted and reinstalled the app but it is still not connecting properly.
Can you advise if there will be a fix released soon as it was working fine prior to the update.
Many thanks,
Martin

Hi @RicardoFitbit i am using OnePlus 6t device and i i started facing this issue after Fitbit firmware update where in watch setting>Bluetooth>restore music control, i have to pair my phone again and again in order to control music which was not the case before recent firmware update. It has nothing to do with Fitbit app.
I tried not the only all methods from help article but also tried to remove watch and re-connecting to phone, restart etc.

I have a Google pixel xl2 and a Versa and am having the same issue since the new firmware update. I'm able to successfully pair with versa classic and control the music and then after a minute or two it disconnects.
I think the issue is that on the watch using -settings>Bluetooth> restore music controls the order of options is incorrect.. it goes from off to on to pair. You can't change from pair to on without turning it off and if you do nothing, once it's successfully paired it eventually times out

I'm experiencing the exact same problem since the new firmware update (32.68.9.15) on my Versa 1. I tried uninstalling the app, removing the pairing from my Pixel 3 phone and reconnecting. It seems to pair initially, but when I disconnect and try to reconnect, it never works again.
I'm using the Versa (Classic) bluetooth connection. The regular Versa bluetooth never seemed to work for controlling my music.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I raised a ticket with fitbit support and finally got a fix, I reinstalled the app on my phone and performed a factory reset on my versa which rolled back the firmware and hey presto, bluetooth pairing and music controls working again!

I did the same thing this morning. I re-installed the Android app and did a factory reset on the Versa. But when it finished the initial setup, it installed the latest firmware (32.68.9.15) and so it still has the same problem ☹️
I hope Fitbit fixes this soon. There's a Google event next week and I'm curious to see what they announce.

I did the factory reset after seeing that as a fix on another thread. It did fix the problem but kindof a bummer to lose some of the new features. Hopefully they'll provide a more permanent fix!

Same problem here, it was working ok before the firmware upgrade.
I have a Samsung A40 and I can pair it ok, it works for a few minutes, then disconnects.
If you flick it on the watch from PAIR it goes to OFF rather than ON, so are these options around the wrong way?
It times out after a couple of minutes and I can see it disappear as a connected device on my phone...

Same problem on my Versa 1 after update to the new firmware 32.68.9.15.
I've tried a factory reset, clear bluetooth data/cache on my adroid smartphone and pair again the device, but the issue continues to persist.

I'm having the same issue since the firmware update...
Phone pairs to Versa (Classic) when the fitbit is in pairing mode, but within a few minutes the fitbit switches Bluetooth from "pairing" to "off" and I lose the ability to control my music.
This is obviously an oversight in the firmware update, in which it was intended that the fitbit switch from "pairing" to "on"...
I'm afraid this will only be remedied by another firmware update and won't be fixed until fitbit acknowledges it.
It's a shame I'll have to factory reset and use the stock firmware... I enjoyed some of the new features, however music controls are a "must have" feature for this product.

I'm having same issue ever since this last Versa Device update.. seems like EveryTime something gets updated, something gets broken. Fitbit Please correct this issue or revert the Device update back to one that works!

Dear Fitbit:
No matter how many times you repeat the same set of instructions, they do not work. Music controls do not stick. Period.
You should respect all the dozens (hundreds?) of users who keep telling you the same thing. It's not credible that every single one of us is wrong.

I found a workaround for Spotify users since the Bluetooth (Classic) seems to be completely broken. I noticed that they have the Spotify Remote control app available in the store for Versa 1 users now. You can control your Spotify app from your watch and it doesn't require Bluetooth classic (I assume it just uses Bluetooth LE?).
I know it doesn't fix the original issue nor does it help if you're not using Spotify, but at least it's something while we wait for a fix...

Has Fitbit Ever acknowledge that this is a real issue i have yet to see it? I got sent to "Technical Support" and they never admitted to the issue and they treated this as I was the only one experiencing this. I since then reset my versa back to Factory settings and the Music Controls work perfectly.

@rive you mentioned that you factory reset your versa. Could you tell us which version you're currently running? When I did a factory reset, it then did an update immediately after which installed the latest firmware (32.68.9.15).

I've had this issue long before the last firmware update.
My samsung S10 worked with Music Controls 100% of the time.
My Pixel 3 drops the "Versa (Classic)" bluetooth connection after a minute. Also it never works initially and i have to pair it each time.
Be nice if Fitbit needed to one of us to provide logs or something for them to examine, so we get the feeling it's being investigated.

I am having the same problem since the latest update. I know there is no real solution for this at the moment aside from resetting to factory settings but I just wanted to let Fitbit know that everyone is having this problem. It's something they need to fix. I have a Samsung Galaxy 9. My watch is a versa. Everything was working fine before the update. The only way to get my music controls working is to reboot the watch but it doesn't last long as soon as I stop this music session the music controls are gone because Bluetooth classic has disconnected.

This situation is not that "uncommon." I would argue that many people are having this issue. The firmware update broke music controls for me as well. I have also re-setup my app to no avail.
