New Android App breaks privacy policy

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The policy says:

GEOLOCATION INFORMATION

The Services include features that use precise geolocation data, including GPS signals, device sensors, Wi-Fi access points, and cell tower IDs. We collect this type of data if you grant us access to your location. You can always remove our access using your Fitbit device or mobile device settings. We may also derive your approximate location from your IP address.

BUT if you turn off location then the app refuses to sync therefore making the sharing of location data mandatory and not voluntary.

Error message at top of screen says, "Can't sync without location permission. Tap to open settings."

But when I attempt to add the picture I get this message: "The message body contains 28_210933, which is not permitted in this community. Please remove this content before sending your post."

I'm furious about this change. Not only is it a serious privacy violation, it drains the phone battery.
