Fitbit Update: 9/10

 

Thanks, everyone for your feedback on the Android dashboard. We're always aiming to improve our user experience and have relayed this information to our team. 

 

There are no plans to revert to the old dashboard. We understand that the app update may not be up to your standards, but we do hope you continue to interact and explore the features.

 

Since all feedback has been passed on, we will be closing the thread. If you are experiencing any issues or have bugs to report, please start another thread. We appreciate your cooperation.

We have now transitioned everyone onto the new Fitbit app experience. With this new design, we've created a space that is more dynamic, integrated, and highly personalized. 

 

We hope you enjoy using this new dashboard and interface for all your Fitbit needs. For any issues using the new interface, for example bugs you come across, we'd like for you to leave comments in this thread. 

 

Please only report bugs or issues with using the app.

New to forum but like do many on here since the latest update Aaargh no sync of Fitbit..  I tried the usual reboot etc but nothing.. is there an update from admin????

Nope. Everything is still our fault and we need to continue to try all the "fixes" which of course don't work.

I think most of were happy until this update. I just wish Fitbit would own up to a crappy new app and tell us they will keep us updated.

New version seems to be more consistent in pushing users out 😞 With my Versa sync is working reasonably fine, but no progress bar visible (famous "Enable location to sync" message while it is syncing independent of location service state). Can't update app ("App cannot be installed... Your device is not connected" while sync and notification are working), does not want to access watch faces with same message, but but somehow I manages to update settings of my current watch face.

New clear bright white color schema is opposite what most of developers are targeting to save battery life to switch to dark mode. If you happens to be in no internet areas (like camping) app is not showing data complaining about network. Good feature for active people! Amazing!

Looks like it is time to look around for new device....

Well, I now have my friends back. I didn't do anything, they just appeared
(as if they secretly fixed after I complained). While I have my friends
back, not one shows any activity when I go to set up a challenge, so I
guess I'll have to add 50 friends to fill 10 slots.

After deleting and donloading the new app 3 times, it still did not sync with my flex.

 

So, deleted the new app, and restored version 2.8.3 from an archive and it synced without a problem.  The latest version doea not work with a flex, android and a LG G4.

 

I currently have the auto update turned off

 

I also found the new app to be too much like an iPhone app..... Which is one step below a play school speak and spell.

 

Liked the prior version, hate the current verion.  It should be simple, to the point, no fluff, no BS and most importantly....it should work.  Change my mind..... the alternative is to toss the fitbit into the next bonfire.

09/04/2019 - Sync issues seem to be resolved when I reviewed the Account Privacy and Security section for errors.  I said I tried to reinstall, log out and log back in and turned off the unit and back on again - but sync did not resolve.  BUT, when I checked my account under Security and Login and Manage Account Access just browsing for answers - I found that my unit was logged in as three different units on my account, all with the same device number.

Perhaps that is why it could not sync. The app could not determine which unit it was, there were too many there. So I deleted (revoked access) to the duplicate units, relogged into the account and I could sync-up and it seems to be working correctly now. I now have only those correct items logged into my account and sync can find my unit.  Hope this might help others with this app upgrade.

My Fitbit won't accurately display phone numbers for incoming calls anymore. I often get spam calls, but it comes up as one of my favorite contacts. It also won't display any text for text messages, just who the text is from. It also doesn't sync quickly enough. If I get one notification for a text, then someone else texts me within ten minutes, I don't get the second notification. I don't have a job where I can leave my ringer on, and I can't always take my phone out of my pocket to see if someone needs me to come help in another part of the building. This has been ongoing since the update. I understand bugs, but there no point to having a Fitbit if it syncs as well as my son's $20 knock off.

Yep. I'm in same boat. I need my notifications on at work. They haven't worked in weeks. Fitbit did tell me I could delete this new update and upload the old one. I went to the site they gave me but they want a charge card. So now I'm researching which smart watch would be the best but not made by Fitbit.

Hi @Zinnaerris and others.

If you want to change the order of your stats, just go to "edit". You can change the order of tiles there, or remove them if you want to.

I have an issue... It works! It works with my android phones. Before I had to sync 3 or 4 times to view my sleep. My Charge 2 wouldn't connect to use the GPS. I bought an iPhone to resolve those issues. I should have waited. I'm happy with the new app.

Just wanted to let you know that after uninstalling the 'new' interface and using 'up to down' website for a previous version of fitbit with the old interface, and making sure that I had turned OFF updates for fitbit, my Flex now syncs effortlessly and I have ALL of my stats from before it stopped syncing etc... I went back to version 7.2 and have no issues with this.. so for a little bit of jiggery pokery you can get the old version back on your device... Happy bunny now, but I have also bought another smart bracelet that also does blood pressure/oxygen levels etc.. IF my fitbit stops then I have a replacement.
