New Pixel 3 Watch only Syncs Manually

After my Versa2 was bricked after a mandatory firmware update from Fitbit in August (after a glorious 5 years of service).....I bought a Pixel 3 watch. 

Newest versions of Fitbit App on watch and phone. Will sync if manually synced from Fitbit app but will not sync automatically. 

Have uninstalled and reset everything up multiple times. Looking at other users issue with the pixel watches and the Fitbit app I've checked my time zone and reset everything that can be reset.  I know that most users with syncing issues are with it not syncing at all - but my issue is with it having to manually synced. My previous Fitbit watches would sync without me having to "make" them sync and I wasn't expecting the Pixel watches to act any differently. 

Any suggestions?

Your sync is initiated from the Fitbit app. I would check for an update. 4.51 started rolling out yesterday. Clear catch, maybe data.

Thanks for the suggestions. Already running latest everything. But did trying clearing not just cache but data to and letting it log back in. But no go. Still only syncs if I initiate it manually. 

For my Fitbit watches, I think there was a setting to get it to sync constantly in the Fitbit app - but there is no such setting for the Pixel. I would expect those setting to perhaps be in the Pixel watch app - but there is nothing that either. For the Pixel, if you go into the watch settings from the Fitbit app it takes you to the Pixel Watch Settings app. And there is a sync setting in there but it just syncs the watch it doesn't have any timing settings.

@angielsw99 have you checked the Settings for your Fitbit app on your phone? I mean these Settings on your phone, not the settings in the Watch app or Fitbit app:

The Fitbit app needs permissions for background data/syncing and location services in order to sync automatically.
