The new weight charts pick poor bounds for the data. My 1-month weight chart shows the axis going from 180 to 132lbs, despite my weight for that period only fluctuating between 172 and 166. This means that the line appears completely flat and is surrounded by vast blank space above and below. This is not a good use of space and does not provide any useful information at a glance like a chart is meant to do. Other apps tailor the axis in a much better way so that you can immediately see any trends. Please fix!
Here is a screenshot to show what I mean:
I wholeheartedly agree - the new weight graph is horrible. I write software for a living, and whoever is responsible for this change should be fired before they do more damage. The old graphs showed me everything I wanted to see - the new graphs are useless.
Whatever happened to beat-testing before you release something to the public?

Hello everyone. @sologal70 @lisaren @Cindy_W @Fredi59
I welcome you all to the community. I really appreciate you taking the time to share this with the rest of us. I have been tracking my weight and can easily appreciate the trend on the graph. However, I have still not gotten the new graphs. It seems to be rolling out gradually. Your feedback is much appreciated. This will surely help towards improving the app features. Keep an eye on next updates.
Have a nice day!
Best AnswerThe last version was wonderful, easily readable and gave data points. This new version need to get chucked out. I can't see my progress. My partner, on the iOS version, is now scared to update his Fitbit because no one wants this.
Agree. The graphs are now pointless, just a flat line. And the other axis is also ruined. At the beginning of a week or month I just see a few points. It used to be rolling last 7 days or 30 days. It's impossible to track progress like this. What are fitbit thinking?
The new graphs are completely useless. Fitbit is supposed to be a fitness tracker - this includes weight. Having a graph scaled the way it is now is completely useless - you can only see a change if you lost something close to 20 lbs in a week - like maybe a body part? I worked very hard to lose 50 lbs over the past year, and the old Fitbit graph was a great tool and motivator. I could see my yearly change as well as my all time change, and watch the trendline go down. I also have it linked to a smart scale, so I was able to see a significant change in my body fat. Now that chart is just a blue blob that has no data value at all. Showing a calendar week, month or year is also really ineffective - it needs to be a rolling time frame. August first I have one data point on my month - how is this helpful? I really don't understand how a company like Fitbit released these without consulting with users and/or health professionals for their comments. Taking away basic functionality like the ability to see something full screen is just completely beyond my comprehension. I have one of the biggest screens available and it is bad, I can not imagine what people with little phones can see. Fitbit, please either roll these changes back, or make actual improvements to the user experience.
The pics are the previous graph view vs the new one (sorry I cut off the y-axis in the old screenshot). You cannot expand the new view at all or go full screen. The old one you could.
Unfortunately I cut off the y-axis on this old screenshot, but in this view you can clearly see progress, and could zoom and look at specific areas of the graph.
This doesn't show any usable data.
I have lost about 24 pounds in 3ish months. This kind of data should represent well on the graphs, you would think. What a great job, that's a consistent 2ish pounds per week!
Nope. Neither the x nor Y scale is any good at all. It won't let me attach images, so let me describe a few things that are wrong:
This update was horrible. I suspect the project managers and/or engineers who produced this work don't actually use a Fitbit, or didn't actually use this update before rolling it out to everyone for more than a week...
@morrisonlevi This is not a fix, but it will temporarily help. Remove the weight goal and it should rescale a little better
The charts are still completely atrocious, doing a calendar week or month is so dumb and useless. I lost 50 lbs in the last year, and can no longer display the past 12 months, and it is so depressing. I used to love watching my trending drop, not anymore. I really hope they are taking everyone's comments to heart and work to fix this in addition to the other areas they messed up with the last update.
Congratulations on your progress and keep it up!
Thanks, @SueChem! In case you haven't seen it yet, there's a mod post by @RodrigoMFitbit that says there should be an update for weight trend charts this month:

So... hopefully we don't have to wait too long 🤞.
I have exactly the same issues as described in this thread. While I was very excited about the weight graph (and BMI etc) features in the past and recommended the app and tracker to a lot of friends I will definitely stop doing so. I have also terminated my premium abo. I do not believe in a rollback of this horrible update; they will more likely start with many micro-improvements .... so my time as fitbit user and supporter is running out. Sad.
I totally agree, the new graph is so bad compared to the old one.
There is no way to smoothly scroll through the progress, the trend is very difficult to read compared to the old one.
There's nothing positive about this new graph, did someone at Fitbit even try it before releasing it? I mean... anyone could easily tell that this is a step back.
Totally agree with you - it's such a shame. The graphs are so bad, that I have not bought another fitbit as I would have done.. I wish this would get fixed as it really is a deal breaker - the old graphs as others have said were great. I'm now looking for another app, which is a shame as there is so much I liked about fitbit.
