The new android app is awful, as soon as I figure out how to roll it back I will. Tracking activities USED to be easy, not it is not only more complicated, it is also non-intuitive on how to even get started! And food tracking also used to be easy... again, now... NOT! Can anyone tell me ANY advantages to the new interface??? I am not questioning the updated features, not that I have used them, like the GPS tracking, but the mobile app interface used to be dead simple to use and now it is buggy (phone reboots when adding activities... never used to!) and is confusing. Give me back the old interface... I am trying to find the old APK so I can roll back on my own. If I could post a rating on this update it would be NEGATIVE stars.
Kathy, thankfully I had a tablet with the old version still on it and I was able to uninstall the new one, copy the old install file and reinstall. I'm a techie, so it wasn't bad for me, hope you can find a solution too.
Luckily, V2 was still on my android tablet. I was able to use Easy App Toolbox to copy the apk off of my tablet, upload it to Google Drive and download /install it back on my Samsung Galaxy S4. Whohoo. I'm happy to have 2.0 back. I also turned off auto update on the phone so that I won't get screwed over with a crappy update.
Not only that but the new update seems to be draining my battery on a GalaxyS4. Yesterday the FitBit app was responsible for consuming 50% of my battery life with the phone inactive for most of the day. Please fix all of these issues!
The update is not only draining my battery, but it also seems to have decided that I should be consuming 0 calories a day - every calorie logged as food shows up as over my calorie goal, even when I'm still under budget on the next line down:
Got to second the dislike for update. I can't tell you how long it took me to add/edit/save any activities today. I'm really IT literate etc but nearly lobbed the phone in frustration. I'm honestly not sure the developers have either a fitbit or a smartphone ![]()
Not only is it slow, and my galaxy restarts as well, BUT my calories eaten is waaaay off, like 1000+ calories off!! It tells me I am over my calories for the day before I have even logged a single calorie 😛 When will this be fixed?!?!
Hello everyone!
Just a little bit of an update. After speaking with our specialist, it looks like there's an update coming our way sometime next week. Obviously, we'd like it sooner rather than later, but I can confirm that our developers are working hard to get this released. Thanks for your patience.
All I can say is thank heavens for the Drivebit app which means I can enter my bus journey/driving/being a passenger via that medium in easy steps instead!
Doing it via the app is beyond awful, especially if you do multiple things which need logging. It even had me looking for an alternative device last night!
