Newest Update... YUCK!

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The new android app is awful, as soon as I figure out how to roll it back I will.  Tracking activities USED to be easy, not it is not only more complicated, it is also non-intuitive on how to even get started!  And food tracking also used to be easy... again, now... NOT!  Can anyone tell me ANY advantages to the new interface???  I am not questioning the updated features, not that I have used them, like the GPS tracking, but the mobile app interface used to be dead simple to use and now it is buggy (phone reboots when adding activities... never used to!) and is confusing.  Give me back the old interface... I am trying to find the old APK so I can roll back on my own.  If I could post a rating on this update it would be NEGATIVE stars.

I have to agree new app is awful and adding active minutes slow. Don't developers test their apps? I wish I could go back to previous version.

Kathy, thankfully I had a tablet with the old version still on it and I was able to uninstall the new one, copy the old install file and reinstall.  I'm a techie, so it wasn't bad for me, hope you can find a solution too.

Luckily,  V2 was still on my android tablet. I was able to use Easy App Toolbox to copy the apk off of my tablet,  upload it to Google Drive and download /install it back on my Samsung Galaxy S4.  Whohoo. I'm happy to have 2.0 back. I also turned off auto update on the phone so that I won't get screwed over with a crappy update.

LOL.  I just did the same. Now that I have the apk,  it won't be an issue going forward.

Not only that but the new update seems to be draining my battery on a GalaxyS4.  Yesterday the FitBit app was responsible for consuming 50% of my battery life with the phone inactive for most of the day.  Please fix all of these issues!

I'm sure it has to do with the competition rushing to market with their product lines. Unfortunately, in their panic to put a slicker face on their app, they screwed up. it's sad for those of us who are invested in the Fitbit product line since we're the ones getting screwed over. Hopefully potential users will be smart enough to listen to the feedback.

I like the challenges they started but they've just done another update and now I can't join them

The update is not only draining my battery, but it also seems to have decided that I should be consuming 0 calories a day - every calorie logged as food shows up as over my calorie goal, even when I'm still under budget on the next line down:

Mine is doing the same thing! Any way to correct this (each calorie eaten is a calorie over)?

Got to second the dislike for update. I can't tell you how long it took me to add/edit/save any activities today. I'm really IT literate etc but nearly lobbed the phone in frustration.  I'm honestly not sure the developers have either a fitbit or a smartphone   Smiley Frustrated

It's a really lousy rededign. I'm glad I was able to re-install the previous version. This debacle causes me to question my decision to invest in the Fitbit One and the Aria smart scale.

No questions. Just a suggestion. Fix the freekin proggy pronto.

Not only is it slow, and my galaxy restarts as well, BUT my calories eaten is waaaay off, like 1000+ calories off!! It tells me I am over my calories for the day before I have even logged a single calorie 😛 When will this be fixed?!?!

Hello everyone!

Just a little bit of an update. After speaking with our specialist, it looks like there's an update coming our way sometime next week. Obviously, we'd like it sooner rather than later, but I can confirm that our developers are working hard to get this released. Thanks for your patience.

Why don't you solicit a few users to test the update. End users always have a different take on issues. Not hearing much about the third party issue, Spark People data loads do not work either.

All I can say is thank heavens for the Drivebit app which means I can enter my bus journey/driving/being a passenger via that medium in easy steps instead!

Doing it via the app is beyond awful, especially if you do multiple things which need logging. It even had me looking for an alternative device last night!

Time to upgrade...fitbit has completely messed the app up..I'm highly disappointed in the new update...no active minutes makes not even want to wear it anymore and I've been wearing my force for a year
