No Login with Google account option in Android app

Hi!

I don’t get the Login with Google account when starting the Fitbit Android app, ver 3.75. I migrated my Fitbit account to Google a couple of days ago but now I can’t login to the account from the app on my Android tablet (works with the iOS app, though). I’ve tried switching off WiFi, as suggested in another thread, but without any success.

Same issue here. Not sure how switching wifi off would work since I need it for the connection. Switched to google and now locked out of all fitbit app logins and may never be able to sync data again, rendering my fitbit account useless.

Version 3.75 is an old version, the newest version is 4.01.

What phone and Android version are you using?  You need to be using 9.0 or newer to update to the newer versions of the Fitbit app.

My phone is a couple of years old, so I would guess it also runs an older version of Android. But I should not be required to purchase a new phone to use the fitbit app. I am able to  login via google to get to this website, but it seems like none of my devices (including my brand new Chromebook) can use the Fitbit app so I'd like to go back to a regular (enter email/enter PW) login and now I feel like I'm stuck and unable to revert back.

To be clear, my Chromebook can actually install the fitbit app, and I can login to that one, but it refuses to pair with the device so it's essentially irrelevant that I can "use" the app with it. And thanks for your response/attempts to help.

Issue solved!

Got myself a new tablet (sic!) with newer Android and Fitbit app versions. But I had to logout from my iPhone before I could logon from Android, and then logon again from the phone-

Glad that you were able to get your Fitbit device syncing again.

It's tough when software enhancements require newer hardware to take advantage of the new features, but users keep wanting more and better functionality from everything they buy and that drives the need for more advanced hardware.

I agree with this, but I (and some others, I suspect) did not want enhancements. The only thing I did was choose to migrate to a Google account single sign on, since I was told when I installed the app on this new Chromebook/Tablet that I would eventually be forced to do that anyway. And now I can't use my Versa at all with the app. It's basically just a pedometer and will never sync again.
