No sleep stages and no apparent reason for it

I haven't got sleep stages today:

- It has been working fine for months

- the battery was 100% when I went to bed

- the heart rate graph shows consistent heart rate readings during the night

- I have been sleeping the usual 8 hours

I had problems connecting to Fitbit.com this morning and when I finally connected I had to re- login which this seems to happen after some updates. I wonder if the last update has anything to do with it.

I've found a possible fix, remembered seeing it on a previous thread about sleep tracking issues, and it's just worked for me, I'm now seeing sleep stages for last night.

On the Fitbit app, tap the Sleep tile and then tap on the bit that says "Today" and shows the dark blue line with no sleep stages.

Take note of the exact start and end times recorded for last nights sleep then tap the three dots in the top right corner and choose Delete Log.

This should take you back to the screen showing the last several days of sleep logs, with last nights now gone - if not tap the Sleep tile again to get back there.

Click the + symbol in the top right, choose Add Sleep Log, and enter the exact start and finish times you noted earlier. (Remember to change the start date to yesterday if it was before midnight)

Hit Save, and you'll see the log processing for a few seconds, then your sleep stages should appear.

I also have no sleep stage information, just some useless data on awake, restless and asleep. If this is a permanent change, I am majorly underwhelmed.

Same here... first time I haven't seen sleep stages in the months I've had the tracker.  The reason mine gave is that it was unable to get a consistent heart rate reading overnight, but there are no breaks in the heart rate graph.

Hoping it's just a one night glitch due to whatever was going on with the servers in the early hours of this morning, especially since others are getting the same thing.

I also have HR readings available for the whole of last night.

Same here, no detailed sleep data for 'no reason'. Suppose it has nothing to do with the unannounced 'planned update' foisted on us this morning for six hours? Not impressed - many assurances from Fitbit that all data would still be tracked and available. Seems not.

Thanks a lot Victoria, that worked for me too. Let's hope we don't have to do this again tomorrow.

Glad it worked for you too! And yes, hopefully it was just a one-time glitch due to the maintenance this morning.

Hi there @MariaLeon@Dewines and welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community @shanreta. My apologies for the late response. I was reading that you were not able to see sleep stages.

Nonetheless @Victoria7500 has already provided a good workaround for this. Actually this is good practice since by editing or in this case creating a new sleep recording, you force your Dashboard to recalculate your sleep. Showing sleep stages if were not initially synced.

Also, as an additional piece of information, there is a new version for the Fitbit app in Android for you to install. For more details, please review this post.

Regarding sleep stages, this help article will tell you more:

See you later and let me know if the issue persists.

Have tried what is suggested but still my fitbit is not recording my sleep times. It stopped 2 weeks ago.

My sleep stages have been fine since that happened. Have you checked all
the different suggestions in the other post?
If you have, then perhaps you need to contact support...

I realize this is an old thread but I too am having this issue. The battery is good. The band is in a good place. There is a consistent heart rate graph for the nights in question but I'm still getting no sleep stages. I've tried the "delete and relog sleep" workaround and it did nothing.
