Not automatically tracking exercise

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

After syncing, my FitBit Alta HR is not auto detecting exercise after using the elliptical, but it is detecting active minutes. I tried manually entering exercise and this throws off my total active minutes (makes it look like I did more than I actually did). I am using the Android app. This just started happening this week, never had an issue before

Thanks for joining the Forums @Ltello

This could be happening because the movements tracked by the Fitbit haven't been recognized as you being doing elliptical. My suggestion in this case would be to tighten the band around your wrist whenever you will exercise. This will make sure that the movements are recognized more accurately, as will improve the HR tracking to make sure that your Fitbit knows what you're doing.

Hi!

I have a similar problem, and I have tried to wear it tighter and then looser. Where to go from here?

Cheers, C

Welcome to the Forums @SunsetRunner.

I apologize for the delay in my response. Let me help you figure out what is going on.

I'd like to ask you some questions:

  • What activities are you performing?
  • Has this always been like that or did it track correctly in the past?
  • What Fitbit are you using?

Let me know if you have any further questions.
