Not receiving Call notifications

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Galaxy S8 - Android 8.0.0

I have checked the following:

Permissions

Do Not Disturb

Notifications

I have restarted and reset the Ionic

I also do not receive the missed call notifications.

All other notifications are received fine.

Looks like MANY people have this issue.  What do I try now?

Welcome to the Forums @RLTidd.

Thanks for trying to troubleshoot on your own before and for all of the information regarding your setup.

In this case I'd like to recommend that you try to go through all of the steps in this help article about notifications. That should help so that they all start working correctly.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

I had already tried all the things in the article.  I receive all other notifications fine.  The ONLY one with which I am having trouble is the phone ringing.  And from see the forum, so do lots of other people.

Any other suggestions?

Hello @RLTidd.

Thanks for confirming that you indeed went through all of those steps.

In this case I'd like to ask some questions to better understand the situation:

  • Do you get missed call notifications, or not even that?
  • When did you start experiencing this?
  • Do you have any other Bluetooth devices connected to your phone?

Look forward to your reply.

No missed call notification

Approx 2 weeks ago

Yes I have a headset connected.

Curiously today, I got one call notification that showed on my Fitbit.  None of the remainder of my calls today have shown.

Hello @RLTidd.

Thanks for letting me know.

As a way to test it, could you try unpairing your headset from your phone and giving it a test that way? This way we could know if it is because there might be some interference causing the notifications to not come through.

Look forward to your reply.

Any fix for this?

Hello @RLTidd.

Thanks for letting me know that turning it off did the trick.

Given that it seems like the headset is preventing the Fitbit from connecting to the phone to get the notifications I'd recommend keeping it that way. At this moment we do not have any workaround for Bluetooth signal being interrupted by other devices.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Wow, THAT is extremely limiting and disappointing..  My pebble worked fine this way.

Hey @RLTidd.

It is possible that is related to the type of Bluetooth connection or channels used by both devices. Please do know that we take situations like this into consideration and that we're always looking for ways to improve.
