Not receiving notifications with Google Pixel 2XL

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I recently switched from a Motorola to a Pixel 2XL. I can't get my Charge 2 to send text or call notifications now. The test call works, but no notifications show up.

I did have the text problem with my old phone where only the sender showed, but that was recently mostly fixed. But now, nothing at all with the new phone.

Welcome to the Community Forums @Sarahcuda.

I appreciate the details that were shared in your post and for troubleshooting this situation prior to posting. If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device? to see that all the necessary requirements to receive notifications on your Charge 2 are correctly configured. After verifying this, please try the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone and let me know how it goes.

Keep me posted and let me know if you have any additional questions.

I tried your suggestions, but they seemed geared towards apple users and I am on Android 10.

I ended up installing a third party app called Fit Notifications and this is working for me

I had no idea this was a thing. After so many months of our messages and calls being messed up,  I can't believe no one has talked about this. I will say that the caller name was wrong, but it has been for months anyway. But the texts work. Thanks!

Why didn't Android users get a big pink banner at the top of this site, or special help pages? Ours has been broken since July. Any updates on a fix?

So yeah, mine stopped working too, and I deleted the app. Too bad, I was really hoping it would work. I appreciate the suggestion though!

Hello again! It's a pleasure to continue providing assistance. Welcome aboard @SunsetRunner and thanks for your reply @Sarahcuda.

I'll like to let you know guys that the information that was shared on my previous post is not for iOS users only,  you can find an Android workflow to troubleshoot this situation. That being said, please review such information and after trying the steps that are specified there let me know if the issue persist. Also, please let me know if both of you are not receiving notifications at all or just one type of them.

Looking forward to your replies.

I've been through every suggestion at least twice...it just doesn't work anymore.  Randomly in the middle of the day yesterday I actually received one..then nothing.

I deleted the app and then downloaded an older version. That worked for a bit, then stopped. Did that again, same thing. I finally just updated it to the current version, and it seems to be working. Except for calls. The call notifications show the wrong caller every time.

@Sarahcuda  Fitbit has said that reverting to an older app might cause problems. There is a reason for each new app version. I got version 3.8 yesterday and it works well. Have you received it yet? They release them on a rolling basis and not all at once.

The update in early July is what caused this whole problem in the first place. On my old phone, I had to revert back to the older version to get my notifications. Then, a newer version fixed SOME of the problems. Now I guess I'm dealing with the updated version that has not fixed all the problems yet.
