I have tried everything to get my text message to go to my versa lite and I get one hear and there but nothing for the past few days. I have a motoz2 play and if it's not compatible I will return it to the store and get something else. Please help I would like this to work.

If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device? to see that all the necessary requirements to receive notifications on your Versa Lite are correctly configured.
After verifying the above, please try the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone and let me know how it goes.

I am probably going to have to get it replaced or a different one nothing is working. I have seen nothing but issues with the versa lite on sync and connecting. i guess I should of not got this one.
