Not receiving notifications with Samsung S10+

I bought this watch with intent to get notifications and make calls. It's not doing that in my Samsung galaxy s10+. NOW only having it a day in considering returning it. It shouldn't advertise this if it doesn't work. It's a 200 watch. How do I get my notifications to work?
