I bought my VersaLite about 2 weeks ago I have restarted this thing and checked into every help forum that I can find no matter what I do I cannot receive text messages. Everything is up-to-date my notifications are on the settings are appropriate... no clue what's happening...

In case you haven't already done so and just as our friend @Rich_Laue suggested, I recommend you to check: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device? to see that all the necessary requirements to receive notifications on your Fitbit are correctly configured and to try some troubleshooting steps.
