Not tracking mileage correct on runs

I use both Fitbit and runkeeper to track my runs outside.  Fitbit never matches what runkeeper says the distance is. It is always at least a quarter mile off, short. Does anyone else have this issue? I've been tracking my runs using both apps for over a year now.

@Ishtray, you don't say which Fitbit device you are using, nor do you say whether you are tracking the run by using GPS or the step count.  If you are using the tracker step count, the distance is calculated by your profile defined stride length, and you would have to adjust that to be more accurate.  If you are using the GPS, is that a tracker internal GPS or the phone connected GPS?  If you can provide more information, we will be able to provide more assistance.

I use the GPS to track my runs in both the Fitbit and runkeeper apps. You would think the mileage would be the same but it is not. Fitbit always shows I ran at least a quarter miler shorter if not more than runkeeper does. I started first with the charge 2 and recently upgraded to the charge 3. Same issue with both so I assume this is an issue with the app not the device.
