I tried the Fit Notifications app and I still have had zero luck. I would be fine with a 3rd party workaround if it worked! I've used and enjoyed my Fitbit Ionic for 2 years now and this is extremely frustrating. Definitely considering switching to a Samsung, Garmin or other activity-tracking smartwatch.

Yeah looks like I was able to workaround the issue by downloading google's 'messages' app and setting that as my 'default sms app' in Android settings and then updating my fitbit settings to treat it as my text messaging app. So now I get notifications for texts. It must be an issue between specifically samsung's 'messages' app and fitbit's.

I ended up biting the bullet and installing Google's "messages" app and setting it as my default sms app in Android settings, and updating fitbit's android app settings to use it as my 'text messaging' app. Now I get text notifications. It must be an issue between samsung's messages app and fitbit's android app.

This just worked for me too! I am totally fine with using the Google Messages app instead of the native Samsung one.

Great work! Thank you so much for sharing!

Same exact issue. Galaxy Note 10 & Versa.  I get all notifications except text & that's the one I need most reliable to check on my kiddos.

The Google messaging app work for me as well but it was short lived 😞 It also stoped working after my 1st message.

Ugh! It's been a few hours and it's still working for me. Now I'm scared, lol.

What type of Samsung do you have, with which version of Android?

I have had issues for a week from the last update on my samsung S10plus. Anyone got any ideas. I am not getting text messages. Everything else seems ok. Takes long time to sync sometimes.

See above. Installing Google Messages, and replacing that as the default messaging app (instead of Samsung Messages) worked for me and another user.

Hello, I received the fitbit Inspire HR as a christmas present and it has been working beautifully until a few days ago. I no longer receive text message notifications (I'm on a Samsung galaxy s10). The interesting part is that I can receive notifications from everything else I have requested to receive notifications from. I tested out why this could be and have noticed that I will receive delivery reports but I cannot receive incoming text message notifications. I have unpaired, deleted my account, reset my device and still nothing seems to be working. I'm a bit lost on what is happening and am tempted to exchange it for a new one.

Has anyone else had this issue? If so, how did you fix it?

So this is from the tech team

Thanks for letting us know about this issue that is still ongoing with your Versa notifications.

This has been an outgoing issue that we're experimenting with customers on Android, our team is already concern about it and we're working to solve it as quickly as possible.
The only option right now will be to stay pending for further updates. Be sure to keep your Fitbit device and app up-to-date to ensure you receive the quickest resolution

We're sorry for any trouble. We appreciate your patience and look forward to getting you back on track.

Please let us know if there's anything else we can do to assist you in the meantime.

I read this last night and then again this morning. I'm feeling that the
answer is "less than satisfactory". 🤣 My goodness! Of course we have
another choice! Probably several. Our issue is that we invested our hard
earned money on this product. Ya know what I mean? 😘

I'm giving your comment a thumbs up...not because I like their response, but because I appreciate you sharing it.  Lol.  I have mine "semi working", but not properly by any sense.  I had to add "google messages" AND "Fit Notifications" (both from the Google Play Store)...NOT ideal or even close, but it does make the dang thing vibrate and if I look quickly I can read what it says.  Since Fitbit has had this "ongoing issue" as far back as 2016, I hesitate to hold my breath that they are ACTUALLY working on it at this moment.  I may be cynical though.  😉  I'm going to try to share this with everyone who has shared our struggle and am hoping it helps someone else.  Take care!

I am having the same issue. I have an S10 and I even went and traded my Versa 2 and it's still not sending texts to my Versa. I can get phone calls but not texts.
