Notification issues after updating to Android 10

Fitbit Update: 1/15/2020

 

Hello, Android users!

 

We've been seeing a lot of you that recently have upgraded to Android OS 10 report that you're now having difficulty receiving notifications to your Fitbit watches. 

 

I've merged many posts together and we've escalated the issue to our developers to investigate.

Well, I returned my versa today and picked up a samsung galaxy watch active 2. This watch is so much better! Of course it's almost double the price, so I guess that makes sense. Loving it so far. Take care and good luck everyone.

It took me a while to find this thread. I tried everything thinking it must be me since my Charge3 is the first FitBit I've owned and it worked for a few days (Christmas present) before the text messages stopped working. 

 

BUT, I tested something tonight. I turned off the "preview new messages" notification setting on my messaging app in my Galaxy S10 and immediately started receiving text notifications on my Charge3. That's progress but still has problems. It won't let me Open the message once received. If I hit the Open button it brings me back to the clock screen and if I retry opening the message it says there are no new ones, but at least it's telling me I have a text message.

I have a Galaxy A10e and have had it and a Fitbit HR for about 3 months. It was working great up until the last couple weeks. I did a ton of troubleshooting and tests. It seems I'll mostly get a text if my phone is on my  body or within arms reach. Otherwise, nothing! Hopefully it gets fixed.

So,  hooked up new Fossil watch,  unpaired my Fitbit Versa,  shut the versa off, accidentally turned it back on,  got a text and it came through,  everything is coming through now,  without it being paired with my Galaxy!  Maybe just unpair it,  see if it works. 🤷🏼‍:female_sign:Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

Thank you for the update! I hope it works out beautifully for you.

Hopefully Fitbit realizes they've lost 2 loyal, and oh so patient customers
who they will probably never get back. Additionally, it is human nature to
tell everyone our experiences when someone asks for a recommendation for
this type of watch.

It appears to be an ongoing issue (from 2016) for every model and the 2
main operating systems (Android & Apple), and every model type.

I have never "learned to code" beyond the basics...but if I had, I can
assure you it wouldn't take me 4 years to come up with a solution. 😉

Hi.  My Samsung Note 10 recently had an update and now my Versa 2 will not receive the text notifications.  I did a soft reset, I unpaired the Versa and paired it back to my phone and I'm still having this problem.  What can I do? Its so unfortunate that I have these new devices and they are not working together.

I can sync them but Bluetooth and Versa 2 won't pair.   I get everything BUT my text and call notifications.  My phone rings or someone texts me and nothing on my Versa. Help!

I see others are in the same boat. About a week ago I totally stopped getting my text messages on my Versa 2. I have Tried Every last thing even down to factory resetting my fitbit. Its clearly a software update issue or something. I guess if this cant be resolved soon I will be making a return.

My Versa 2 stopped all text and messenger notifications on my Samsung S10+. I've factory reset my smartwatch 3x and still isn't working. Please help me find a solution. Thank you

I have the same issue for the last few days. It was working then all of a sudden it stopped receiving texts. I have a Samsung S10+ and I have done all the troubleshooting tips SEVERAL times and it's seriously getting old. Since there are several with this same issue Fitbit should be addressing this issue as soon as possible.

I'm also having the same issue with my samsung s10+. I've tried every form of resetting and repairing possible. FB Messenger and snapchat sends notifications to my versa but texts from the default samsung Messages app do not work. It's been close to a month since it's worked properly. It's getting old.

S10e here with charge 3 and all notifications but text messages. It's been a couple of weeks at least. Restarted it, unpaired and pair again went into settings both on the phone and in fitbit app nothing with work.
