Pause button on activity "Tracking" not responding

I have seen a few older threads reporting this problem, but no solutions have been provided.  I am starting the thread again and hoping Fitbit will have an answer.

After doing walks of longer than 75 minutes, when I press the pause button nothing happens.  I have tried swipes, long presses and taps.  However, what I have observed is that the when I go to the map view of my journey the systems seems to still be processing my session.

Typically, after I stop the system (and tap pause) is still processing data from about a mile+ away.  I can then watch the little red line make its way along my route and when it finally reaches my location, the pause button responds.

Clearly, the software is not coping well for whatever reason.

I have a Nexus 5 with Marshmallow.

I have the same problem. I am using a Motorola G, Android 5.1. Pause button does not register. My session today includes my car ride home! Very frustrating, and hoping for a solution.

Did this get resolved? I am experiencing the same problem. Android 4.2.2. on a Samsung S4, with Fitbit charge 2. Really frustrating as can't terminate and have to shut down phone which screws up the last mile covered

I am sorry to say that I have given up on Fitbit's Tech support - the response and attitude has gone from poor to worse.

However, to answer your question.  I made sure that my phone time was set to auto receive from the network provider and not done manually.  I also made sure the GPS is turned on.  The problem seemed to go away after this - it could have been a coincidence or part of the solution.

I hope this helps.

Many thanks for trying to help on this. I am afraid I keep finding issues with the Fitbit software now and it is getting to the stage where I am seriously considering a change of hardware. Really disappointing as I had been a fan of Fitbit in the past.

On this particular issue my GPS is definitely on as is my phone time update from network provider. So this is not the issue for me, but again thanks for trying to help.

I no longer have this issue. I now have a different issue. When I track a walk on my smart home, often when I synch lose the map & GPS info for the walk.
