Phone app notifications are now noisy - how to turn off?

I have a Google Pixel 2 and the Android version of the Fitbit app. Since the last update every alert comes with a sound notification as well as the visual and it is driving me crazy.

I can't find a setting anywhere to put the app on silent like I can for all other apps. Can anyone help?

@BecciRMusic that's great news, and your welcome glad I could help

could I ask you to accept suggestion as solved so it lets other members of the community know that there is a viable solution in this thread should others have the same issue

this also indicates to the Moderators that the enquiry has been satisfactorily addressed and needs no further action

@BecciRMusic Hi and Welcome - if I have the right idea about what you are attempting in your phone go to settings>apps (scroll to Fitbit and click)>this is the app info page (should be) scroll down to app settings and find notifications (should have allowed under it) click on this will take you to the app notification page you should see on, apps icon badges, allow sound) toggle this off and you should have your result

if this is the same as other android phone pull down from the top and you should see a cog symbol this is another way of getting to the settings page

hope this helps

Kind Regards
