Photo Sharing & missing text

Hi after the recent update I am now unable to up load a photo from my phone's liberay and save it with my exercise stats,  it does take me to my liberay and I can chose a photo I want but it won't upload then comes up with "fitbit has stopped working" i can only take a photo and save it straight from the fitbit app with my stats on it. Is there anything i may be missing in the settings? as i have tried everything I can think of! Also since the update i now have missing text coming through my watch as in name & part of the message! It just say "new message"

I have uninstalled and restarted both my charge 2 and Samsung a5 several times. This as happened more so since the firmware update. I'm now really disappoint with the productivity of the fitbit app. This is the first time I have had any problems with either the watch or the app since i purchased my watch back in march this year. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 

Also when I connect it to my iPhone it works perfectly....but the Google app has problems!

Hello @Debshod49,  let me give you a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community! as you know it is possible to share photos, achievements, and exercise stats from your exercise history or your Fitbit dashboard, or write a text-only post in the feed. You can share your posts with a group or with all of your friends, but you can’t share your post to more than one group. So there is no specif setting that could be affecting your app to upload a picture.

 

Regarding the issue with the pictures, I recommend to follow the steps from this post. You'll see the scenario is different although the steps can apply to this issue too.

 

About the issue with the messages, I recommend to enable the notifications setting from scratch. For more details please try the steps from this other post.

Hi thanks for your reply.....i have worked out how to get the text back on my charge 2 screen! Its not just in the notifications, you have to go to the accessability in settings, if you have 'content hidden' from text message on your locked or unlocked screen it will now also hide it on your charge 2 screen! And only show 'new message'

 

The  photo sharing from my phone's liberay is down to the actual size of the photo taken on my phone's camera! So I have to change pic size and quality before taking a photo to share with my fitbit stats first.

 

Syncing issues are still on going and I have to manually sync the app to my charge 2, 2-3 times a day and continually pull down the screen until it resyncs itself! As all day sync seems to be incompatable and Apparently  Samsung a5 doesn't seem to have total compatability to the fitbit app.unlike other Samsungs to the fitbit app, with or without the updates but yet it seemed to work fine before them!

Indeed, I saw your other replies about this, Pretty interesting and I'm glad to see you were able to work things out in part on your own. Definitely this will help other users who might have a similar experience. I will keep this for future reference in case other Community member need your advice.

 

With phones that are not listed as compatible is hard to predict what would be the behavior in relation to the Fitbit app. I'm not an avid Samsung user, but I too have a phone which is not compatible and sometimes it gets stubborn and does not want to connect with my tracker. As workaround what I do when I'm in this situation is to sync app on my Windows 10.

@RobertoME  This is the only post I can find that is close to my issue.

 

On my Android App - Notifications - I cannot find where to include a photo/screenshot. All of the App Settings are set to On....

 

I cannot find anything in the Help dialogues in the Web Help for Android..

 

I have no issues with any other App use...

 

Is there a step I have missed..

@RobertoME   I have found out how to Share items in the App but I was surprised that it must go to all of my Friends.. A few hundred..  How do I localize selected friends.

 

Also if I try to Comment to a Cheer that must go to everyone on my Friends list..  I can see how to reply to a Comment..

 

Also, how can I select a Photo and post to an individual via the App  ?

 

Thanks, this is probably obvious to the younger set but trawling through the documentation for the App doesn't help.
