Pixel 2 / Alta HR compatibility

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Just here to log that my Pixel 2 is not connecting to an Alta HR fitbit. Curious if anyone else is having issues with Pixel 2.

I've attempted every restart/reinstallation combination I can think of. Phone's bluetooth is compatible with other devices, and Alta HR still connects to my old iphone 5s.

I understand Pixel 2 is not listed as a supported device (https://www.fitbit.com/devices) and would like to request that this is added. Thanks!

Surge also not connecting to Pixel 2

I'm having the same problem. My Flex 2 won't connect to my Pixel 2. Tried all the usual restarts and resets of both Pixel 2 and the Flex 2 but still not connecting.

After resetting my network settings (Settings>Network & Internet>3 Vertical Dots top right>Network settings reset), I was able to successfully connect my Surge to my Pixel 2 through the Fitbit app. It is now syncing as expected.

Welcome to the forums @vivamus@jkhani and @SunsetRunner!

Like it was mentioned previously, the Pixel 2 is currently not a supported device and thus we cannot guarantee that it will work with Fitbit. It is possible that it can, since it does have the requirements, but the app is not fully optimized so it might not worked.

@jkhani Thanks for sharing what you tried and letting everyone know that it worked. It is definitely worth a shot for other Pixel 2 users.

Feel free to let me know if there are any further questions!

Welcome to the Community @nexeck.

Thanks for letting us know that it didn't work. As I mentioned before, we cannot guarantee that the Pixel 2 will work because it is not a supported device.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

I've got it working, but not totally reliably.

Are there plans to support it, or should we be looking for another device?

When will the Pixel 2 be a supported device?

When will the Android Oreo be supported?

Heads up that the Blaze also does not work well with Pixel 2.

My fitbit is now connected and working pretty reliably. I followed jkhani's recommendations, but still wasn't able to connect them immediately. They did connect about 24hours later, so I'm not entirely sure if this was what fixed it or not.

Thanks vivamus -

I've tried that and it still hasn't fixed the issue that the "run" and "bike" (so anything needing GPS and my phone) drops connection with my phone and stops tracking after 1-2 minutes. My last Blaze was doing that on the Pixel (original) but it worked after being replaced - If anyone knows how to fix that issue I'd love to know. I can't seem to find anything to help

I've had no problems with the Blaze syncing with my phone or getting notifications - just the dropping after starting a run and I can't get that fixed.

I am planning on upgrading to the Pixel 2 form my Nexus 5X. I guess I will wait for now.

Thank you for info and have a Terrific day!

thank you for the info. I have tried all the suggestions provided and I cannot pair my HR Charge with my Pixel 2. I am surprised my phone is not supported (it's not like the release of the Pixel and Pixel 2 was a secret). I do need to pair and sync my fitbit with my phone consistently and reliably; if it can't play with my Pixel 2 then I need to consider  a fitness monitoring device that can/will. I will wait a few weeks or so to see if fitbit and google can align their products.

Just confirming that after following JKhani's instructions my Fitbit Blaze is now syncing with my Pixel 2. I had to set the Blaze to "Bluetooth Classic" for it to work. Thanks JKhani.

Hey everyone!

Thanks for your interest on the situation. As mentioned before, the Pixel 2 is not currently a supported device and thus issues like these are to be expected. We cannot guarantee that it will work 100% of the time but it seems like @jkhani's suggestion is working for some.

At this moment we do not have any news of when, or if, we can expect the Pixel 2 to be supported, but we will be sure to let everyone know once we have any news.

Feel free to let me know if there are any questions.

I was having issues with my fibit zip not syncing for about 24hours, but i finally switched my phone into airplane mode and back out. That seemed to do the trick for me. I hope this helps people till pixel 2 is fully supported.

ok by going to a bluetooth black hole where there are no other devices, and fully resetting the bluetooth I got it to connect and pair with my One. I even updated the software with it.

And now it doesnt work again. I know it CAN be made to worth with the pixel 2... but until they update the app for Android 8.0 Bluetooth, it is not reliable.
