Pixel 2 / Alta HR compatibility

Just here to log that my Pixel 2 is not connecting to an Alta HR fitbit. Curious if anyone else is having issues with Pixel 2.

I've attempted every restart/reinstallation combination I can think of. Phone's bluetooth is compatible with other devices, and Alta HR still connects to my old iphone 5s.

I understand Pixel 2 is not listed as a supported device (https://www.fitbit.com/devices) and would like to request that this is added. Thanks!

Interesting, as I'm likewise not having any issues with using my Alta HR in combination with a Pixel 2 running Oreo 8.1.0 .  I'm getting notifications and syncing works flawlessly.  My location services are on for the FitBit app and I'm also using the native Google message app and these have been my settings since day one on the Pixel 2.  In fact, the only issue I've ever had since getting my Alta HR working with the Pixel 2 was adding my Fitbit One to the party.  I could get either of the devices to sync correctly but not both, trading off use.  So, for now, I've put the One away in hopes that when the Pixel 2 makes it to approved device status I'll be able to again use it in tandem with the Alta HR.

Considering how popular the Pixel 2 is, why isn't this being addressed by fitbit? Seems like lots of people are frustrated and losing faith in the fitbit product because of the lack of compatibility. I know it's causing me to think about returning it because it's not feasible to un-pair, restart, and re-pair my device every time I want to sync my steps.

Hey everyone!

Thanks for your interest on the situation. As mentioned before, the Pixel 2 is not currently a supported device and thus issues like these are to be expected. We cannot guarantee that it will work 100% of the time but it seems like @jkhani's suggestion is working for some.

At this moment we do not have any news of when, or if, we can expect the Pixel 2 to be supported, but we will be sure to let everyone know once we have any news.

Feel free to let me know if there are any questions.

Okay, this was posted in October 2017, the Pixel 3 is in the works, so any idea if/when it will be supported?! It's so frustrating that I have been a loyal user of a Fitbit device for nearly 4 years and I can't sync my device to the app. No need to join challenges since I can't sync. Very irritating, to say the least.

Can you say what the problem is? Does the Pixel 2 have a different
Bluetooth LE implementation than other Android phones or something?

I'm really disappointed as well. I would have upgraded to an Ionic because it looks really nice, but I'm not sure if I can stick with Fitbit (after about 8 devices!) if I can rely on them supporting the latest phones.

Just like a miracle the Fitbit on my pixel 2 started working several months
ago. I have no idea why. I don't recall removing any other apps or adding
any other apps and I have only had the normal Android updates. It works
perfectly now. PS Google is working on a pixel 3? They haven't even worked
out all the bugs on the pixel 2. Sheesh

Hello everyone!

The developer team is aware of the need to add new devices to the list of compatible devices. There are some users who can sync with non-compatible devices. If your phone meets the requirement of Minimum Supported OS (Android 4.4 KitKat), you can try the tips on the following Sync troubleshooting steps. They have helped some other users with incompatible phones.

Note that we don't guarantee that the syncing would be will be successful as we are still testing on this phone model.

If you have any further questions, please let me know.
