I have been reading OLDER remarks on the issues with the Google Pixel 2 Watch and the Fitbit app not syncing steps correctly but have yet to discover a solution.
The latest remark was 3 months ago.
Here is my situation in case someone can point me to the solution.
Bought a Google Watch 2 about 8 days ago due to a failure with my Versa 4. I correctly setup the watch and from the 1st day I noticed that the Watch was showing more steps than the Fitbit app. At that time there was about a 6 step difference, over the last several days this difference is accumulating. Now the average difference is 60 steps. In order for me to even sync at all I have to turn WIFI off on the cell phone.
I have attempted server things....made sure the watch is fully updated...made sure there were no updates for the Fitbit app,,,un-paired and re-paired...sync from watch...sync from watch app...sync from Fitbit, and in every case the steps do not match.
Now I understand that Google owns Fitbit and everything I have read points to this problem being on Fitbit.
So to kill a long rant of dissatisfaction, is this still an issue and neither Google or Fitbit have a solution or a coming solution? My wife is also in the same boat since we both purchased the Watch 2 but we never had a single issues with Fitbit branded watches in the past.
Thank you

Hello @clayton.baker
Sorry to see that you and your wife are having issues with step counting.
There is currently an issue on the Fitbit side that affects step tracking on Pixel watches, resulting in count discrepancy. At one point, it seemed that the discrepancy had been resolved, but has recently returned. The issue has been escalated to the appropriate team and they are working on fixing the problem. However, we haven't seen a timeline for the fix.
I expect that the fix will be rolled out in an app update. One of the Moderators will pin a post to this forum when there's an app update rolling out. Keep watching for the post and install the update when it's available to you.

Thanks for confirming this. Been having so many issues syncing since 29th November.
I managed to get a partial sync of data including sleep but my workouts and steps are showing 0 since that date. I really don't want to reset the watch and lose local data. Do you know if the data is typically still on the watch with this syncing issue and that it's just not appearing in the app?

Hi, @usmanr. Welcome. Sync your Fitbit app manually by dragging down the "Today" screen and releasing it. Once you've done that (I usually do it twice), your data is safe on the Fitbit server. To reload the Fitbit app, the belt-and-braces process is to go into the Fitbit app on your phone settings>force stop>clear storage and cache>delete the Fitbit app>restart your phone>reload the Fitbit app & log in again with your Google account and set up. A small number of issues have been escalated for which we await a fix including a "Steps" discrepancy but the numbers are much larger than those you report. The Fitbit app can never be perfectly aligned with the device you wear because syncing is not continuous but prompted by activity or a manual sync. 60 steps can easily be achieved in a couple of minutes.
I hope this helps.
Cheers

Hi, @usmanr and @clayton.baker. Thanks for letting me know this situation you have with the steps using your Pixel Watch 2.
Can you confirm, @clayton.baker, if you're still having this situation, please?
