Pixel Watch not counting floors climbed

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've searched the community platform and there seemed to be only one other complaint about the Pixel Watch not registering floors counted. I've restarted my phone; restarted my watch; updated my watch, and all the apps; made sure the sensor wasn't blocked; and yes, I made sure I wasn't walking up stairs while I was underwater (yes, this was actually one of the comments on another post - 'the watch doesn't count stairs when submerged underwater.'), and still the floors climbed are not registering. I purposely walked up and down 20 flights of stairs and my watch showed that I climbed 2. This isn't just a little bit off, this is just not tracking them. Is anyone else experiencing this same issue? Are there any suggestions as to how to fix it?

I tend to feel that if we were underwater. We would know.

Hey @Kevinmogee, I feel your frustration! I've had a similar issue with my Pixel Watch. Sometimes, the watch's sensor doesn't register floors correctly if it doesn't detect enough vertical movement (like when we take small steps). Also, ensure that you're moving continuously for at least 10 seconds as the watch might not register shorter periods of movement. If you've already checked all this, then it might be a software issue, and reaching out to customer support might be your best bet. And just for fun, maybe try not to climb stairs underwater next time! Keep us updated! Cheers!

Thanks for ths. Much appreciated.. You may have a point about the way I
climb stairs as I'm disabled and I move pretty slow. Add to that all my
steps are small whether I'm climbing stairs or not!

But especially thanks for the tip about not climbing stairs underwater. I
will try and keep that in mind. 🤣
