Pixel phones-(Android 15) Recent/Frequent food have their tops cropped off at the top of the screen.

I'm sure 4.29 solved some problems, however it introduced a new problem.  When in the food selection both the Recent and Frequent have their tops cropped off at the top of the screen.  Same thing happens when you want to add calories to the top numeric entry field which is cutoff.

One has to wonder about all these updates but never getting very far.

43 days later I finally get this issued resolved for me.  Never mind the myriad of previous problems and those that others are reportedly still exist.  During this long wait there has been no comments from Google, even the Moderators have nothing meaningful to communicate. Google has lost my loyalty and respect for treating customers this way.  I for one will not be renewing my Premium subscription.  I got tired of waiting and I am using Cronometer.  I regret buying the PW3 and my Pixel 9 XL Pro.

This is amateur hour stuff. This is a 5 min fix, tops, and is crippling app functionality until it's updated. Whoever is in charge of bug prioritisation should be ashamed. Fix your **ahem** app.

I believe this issue is with the latest version of the app not Android 15
because if you install version 4.20 it works fine on Android 15.

Additionally, they introduced two issues since version 4.20 the cropping of
the food screen and the incorrect food calorie count which was introduced
prior to the most current issue.

I don't understand why they don't just allow users to roll back updates
from the play store

You have to go online and find a older version and turn off auto updates to
get back to a staple version really doesn't make a lot of sense I guess
customer satisfaction is not a priority with Google.

Where do you get an older version from?

TBH installing an older version from potentially sketchy sources probably isn't a great idea. there's no way to know if any malware may have been inserted into the app.

If you aren't able to use the Fitbit app as it is, it's probably better to find a different app to keep track of food since there's still no ETA on a fix.

Hello, I see this thread is about a month old with no solution? Or do I have to keep looking for the answer? I just started having this problem today.

Yeah at this point I have to use Cronometer to manually log food and weight info then import it daily into Fitbit. Instead of getting my money's worth with Fitbit which costs me basically $80 a year.

Crazy to think that nearly two months have passed with no solution.

Kinda hate to say this, but I hope Google is forced to split up fitbit by the DOJ. Fitbit used to be a great app, and now it's been "en****tified" by Google. yes this is an actual word - source, Wikipedia - http://bit.ly/49vhigE

The overall en****tification of Google is quite literally laid bare ironically on Google search itself - https://bit.ly/49vhnAY

Long story short I hope fitbit becomes its own company again. Like Google is getting rid of Verily, and now Chrome.

On the 1st August 2024, I took the decision to lose weight. I'm 58 years old and have been overweight most of my life. Everyday I tracked my food and my weight and this became a habit. At the end of November I'd lost 14.6 kgs or 2' 4" and technically I was no longer overweight. Fitbit is the only system that does it the way it does and it was extremely powerful as it calculated your daily results. Then the update....I've been unable to track my food (I still track my weight). I'm incensed at the lack of response on this and it's now personal. In a world of interconnected people, surely someone knows someone who can solve this problem.

Congrats on your weight loss. I am also on my weight loss journey (2' 6" since July) and find the changes equally infuriating. I do still track food but have also noticed calorie changes to some of the items scanned with a barcode that are no longer correct and cannot be corrected. I can't even create a new item to work around it. I also pay for premium and am reconsidering my subscription.

Is Fitbit ever going to fix their food tracking or is it time to look for a different app and potentially a different tracking device?

...I can't even add quick add because of this issue. Can't make changes to already entered custom foods, can't add new custom foods, etc, etc. Food tracking is basically not available at this point.

I'm wondering the same thing. I was happy with the app until this happened.
My trial premium subscription ends in a week, and I'm having a very hard
time justifying renewing when there's no fix in sight.

@JuanFitbit is there any updates on a timeline as to when this issue may be resolved? Please advise of some kind of update.

Hi everyone !
Thank you for all your comments and patience. Our team has worked a solution for this and will be available in the next Fitbit app update. Keep an eye open for the next available update.
After updating the app, please restart your mobile devices (OFF/ON).

Please let us know if you already received the update and if the issue was solved.

We appreciate your collaboration.

@MarioSFitbit are there any further updates on this?  Possibly even a timeline for when users can expect to see the next Fitbit app update? Is Fitbit certain the next update will fix this issue?  We have been told a previous update to version 4.29 would fix the issue but it did not. Does Fitbit have a recommended alternative app for food tracking in the interim until the next update? There are still lots of unanswered questions and no resolution as of 12/16/2024.

And when exactly will this update be available?

I am still waiting for an update. I got a reply on playstore from the Fitbit team and they said to restart my device and update the app But there is no update yet 😢

The race is on. If I figure out how to import my Fitbit data into MyFitnessPal (Historical Data) before they fix this, I won't be renewing my fitbit sub in January.

Although I'm not sure its possible and what data will import yet... so I might still be stuck, although i have already started the export process from Fitbit.

I been using Cronometer. Recommended by Chris Williamson on the Modern Wisdom podcast. Former user of MyFitnessPal but I like Cronometer more there's bilateral sync between both fitbit and Cronometer and it's just easier to use. Like being able to hold down on a food item and SEAMLESSLY drag it across different meal times. also you can use Cronometer on computer unlike Fitbit which has turned into T*nder (meaning, mobile only. No more accessibility from computer). Cronometer is great. And free.
