Yup I have this see this too using a pixel watch to track my runs. Today I ran 6.57 miles and total time for this was 45 mins 40 second. However, in my splits on the app it only recorded a distance of 6.28 miles and the splits are all incorrect.
I have not found a way to correct the issue and fitbit/Google seem to be ignoring it.
I posted a similar question on this forum a while ago. Splits-times-incorrect-in-run never got a response from fitbit/Google about it.

It's not only a Pixel Watch issue but the inconsistencies are there platform-wide.
See this thread. If you dig deeper you'll also find inconsistencies for distances and durations.
I made a breakdown of those inconsistencies here .
Short answer is that Fitbit certainly doesn't care to fix it as this hasn't been addressed for years. You want accuracy (or at least consistency), you go with different watch.

What I find really interesting though is that the underlying data is correct as if you sync your Fitbit with a free strava account then the details are correct with the right pace etc. So what Fitbit are doing to the data is very strange indeed.

@MrObvious yes, the data in the TCX file is what's most correct. Fitbit has issues with presenting the data. It smooths data too much, too much rounding etc. Anyway, accuracy and consistency of data isn't Fitbit's strongest side.

What my pixel watch says during the run, what the Fitbit app says after the run, and what syncs to Strava are all different for me. The real time information on the watch is correct, as is the summary right after the run (on the watch).
Ran a 5k today and the watch real time was dead on, Strava showed 2.75 miles and the Fitbit app had the proper distance but my pace was off by an entire minute per mile.
Pretty disappointing.

@guitargeekrich with Strava there is a different story. Strava uses GPS data (if available) for distance for some watches while for others it uses distance reported by the watch (with option to substitute it by the GPS distance). It depends on their agreement with specific brand. For example, there is know agreement between Garmin and Strava to use Garmin's reported distance so both in Garmin Connect and Strava the metrics are consistent. Fitbit doesn't care much enough to provide proper Strava support so Strava system processes incoming data same as for other "less-serious" brands.
What you see on the watch is a result of Fitbit's distance/pace computation based on stride, sensors, steps. All manufacturers do that (for running, using GPS only is a no-go) but Fitbit seems to be most inconsistent of all I've been using. See that I don't say "inaccurate". First thing I require is data consistency which means that running same route multiple times will result in the same distance (with tiny negligible differences) as consistent data give a proper reference point to observe progress/regress of fitness. This is something Fitbit has been struggling for years and in my eyes it isn't a runner's watch (or sports watch in general).

I'm having the same issue, and it seems to have become much, much worse recently. A few months ago the run in Strava might be off by .02 miles or something like that. Today, at the end of my run the watch said 3.15 miles, while on Strava it says 2.75!

Was that recorded using Fitbit app on pixel watch or strava?
I have started to record my runs in the pixel watch strava app now and am finally getting reliable data.

@dylanzwick in the reply just above yours I explained why is that. Fitbit/Pixel distance isn't based on GPS while Strava uses GPS only. When Fitbit account uploads to Strava then Strava takes the data and "corrects" the distance using the GPS data from that upload. In case that GPS failed anywhere (the watch would be still adding distance in that case) the Strava route may be cut short. Only some manufacturers have agreement with Strava on not touching the data and taking it as it is. Apparently, Fitbit isn't one of them. Although, even for those brands Strava makes no exception when it comes to challenges and uses GPS distance (I guess it's a way to treat everyone fair and of GPS failed, well... tough luck).
