Poor Software Architecture

I've been a software engineer for years and cannot believe that a company such as this would allow an app to be released that has such poor performance. Trying to get the data to refresh in the app is extremely unpleasant and frustrating and there is no excuse for it other than atrocious software architecture as well as inadequate performance testing.

There are at least two areas where information related to the different metrics are displayed. One can be found on the dashboard and one can be found by clicking on the individual metric to "dig in deeper" to that metric and display more detailed information. When information in the app updates, one or the other of the two sets of data very often takes a long time to update. I have had instances where I have waited minutes and also manually closed the app and reopened it multiple times before I can get the second set of data to finally refresh on the screen.

This is not a matter of data not being able to sync between the app and sources outside of the phone because I can see one of the sets of data refreshing while the other does not. The app should have been designed to update the two (or more) sets of information together because they need to same data.

I understand how complex software can be under the hood, and so I would not have the feelings I do about this software if it were to have some strange behavior like this every once in a while. But I am seeing this a lag in one of the sets of data updating every time. Most of the time it only takes a few seconds (which is unacceptable by itself) but the large delays happen about 10% of the time. That sort of perfoshould be embarrassing for well known company like this.

This has been the case since I have seen the major update that changed the way the dashboard looked from tiles to lists, but may have even been before that. I am currently on version 3.17 of the app and am using it on a Pixel 3.

Please - have your software teams fix this behavior in the app.
