Hi, i have just purchased a charge 3 and set up but it has around 4 days previous data in. E.g yesterdays steps of 6284 when i only got it today.
I have tried to reset etc but nothing works it still keeps this previous around 5 days. Am i doing something wrong?

Thanks for bringing this up and sharing all of those details on what you have tried.
It is important to mention that it is not possible to delete all of the data that has already been synced over to your Fitbit account. The best option to do that would be to delete your account and then start with a new one.
What could've happened is that the Fitbit tracked movement from the day before it was set up, while being moved around in the store, or delivery for example, and that's why it logged steps for that day once it was set up.
What you could do is overwrite that data by manually logging a driving activity. That will overwrite those steps and show them as 0 for that day.
