Question about pausing an exercise

Hi all,

ive been using my fitbit on my swimming workout.

Imagine a workout of 3 sets of 4x100m@1:00m with a rest of 0:30m between.

What's the best pratice to get accurate results? Pause or not to pause?

Welcome to the Forums @SunsetRunner.

I'll be happy to answer your question on the matter.

In this case I'd recommend using the pause option to make sure that only the active moments of the workout are tracked. Tracking the rests could cause the data to be off or inaccurate.

Hope this answers your question. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi Laura, thank you.

Can you please explain how does fitbit calculate energy consumption?

I sometimes do hiit with many series of 30s exercice at 90-100 with 2-3m for l recovery. Would still be the best pratice to pause?
