Questions regarding the set up process

I have just received an Apple 7x and fitbit Alta as a gift from my husband. I have downloaded app after app on my phone, kindle and laptop. They all tell me they have found my fitbit, I can log in my food, drinks and health info. No matter what Ive done so far and that includes starting over completely my fitbit still says fitbit.com / setup. Any ideas would be appreciated. I'm also tech illiterate. So please use common words or give me a definition. I really don't want 2 return it. I just want help. Several people who have the Alta have tried to set mine up with no success also. Thanks

Definitively I can help you with some suggestions, I will try to be clear and easy to follow so you can enjoy your tracker.

To start using your tracker, you need a compatible device. To learn if the device you are using is compatible, you can visit the following link: https://www.fitbit.com/devices to search your device's brand.

With not compatible devices doesn't mean it won't work, but you may experienced some issues with certain features, since the app is not optimized to run with the device in question. 

Now that I'm talking regarding the app, this is the second thing to make sure to install on your phone. You can download the latest version of the app here or visit the Google play store.

Now that you have the app installed on your phone the following video will tell you all what you need to start creating your account in case you don't have one.

Once you have your tracker paired with your Fitbit Account, you will be able to use all the features it has to offer, like food logs, weight and other tools that will help you to stay fit. 

Remember that the tracker doesn't connect with your phone as a regular Bluetooth device. All your information recorded with your tracker will be uploaded by your Fitbit app.
