RESOLVED: Missing calorie info when logging custom meal

Fitbit Update 10/26/2016: This issue has been fixed by updating to the Android app, version 2.36

To tidy up the Android board, I am closing this thread from further conversation. If this issue pops up again, please create a new post and reference this one. Thank you for your patience!

Fitbit Update 07/18/16: Several users have reported that they are unable to log pre-existing custom meals via the Android app, version 2.29 as the calories for the meal are missing when attempting to log. Check out my screenshots below.

I've sent the information over to our Product Specialist Team who've gotten this in front of our engineering team for further investigation. When I hear an update from them, I will make sure to share it with everyone here.

In the meantime, I suggest logging custom meals via the online Dashboard at Fitbit.com until this has been resolved.

Way Toooo much work for something  they obviously can fix since it's worked in the past. It's ridiculous.

I'm having exactly the same problem as @rsp. All custom meals have zero calories. Having to go to the website to add them isn't always that convenient, or even possible.

Everyone go to Google play store and give the fitbit app one star. Note that the developer is not making Common App features workable after 6 months of waiting. With enough 1 Stars I can guarantee that they will start losing enough business to fix the basic functionality. And/or get a new Tech team that can do basic functionality. I'm frankly more concerned as to what it says about the overall application stability going forward. Supposably Google's next watch is going to be athletic focused if so Fitbit may lose this business.

This is kind of an important feature for some of us.

Thanks for the update @rsp, and welcome to the forums @soknitsome. I'm sorry to see you continue to find this inconvenience. If you're still getting zero calories with all of your customer meals through the Fitbit app, I do recommend that you get in touch with the Customer Support team for further assistance with this, they will let you know how to proceed.

I'm having this problem too. I originaly posted in a different thread. There seem to be several threads now. Customer Service had me check various things like uninstallling and reinstalling the app etc, checking my tracker was uptodate but nothing has helped. It definitely seems to be the app not our trackers as there are various ones mentioned here. I'm not using pen and paper but having to use the website to log meals is a pain...

Save your breath on this!  It's obvious they are NOT going to fix it. I've given up!!!!

Was there an outcome on this zero calories issue for custom foods on the app?

Sadly no. Customer Services have been in daily contact with suggestions so I can't complain about that.

I've followed those: to check my app was up-to-date (of course it was), uninstall and reinstall the app, they checked my phone was compatible etc but nothing changes. SInce then I've seen there are numerous threads about this.

Somewhere I read of a user suggesting adding meals as one custom food item with the total calories of the meal components. I am going to do this. It just means being a bit descriptive with the name so you know exactly what meal it is.

@spartacussed @Tonyk @Morbius @kiwi1254 @SunsetRunner @JLee31 @Baconizer @soknitsome @foxymoron Sorry for the long delay in getting this issue resolved. I can assure you that I am making sure our team is still working on this and working to get a fix out soon. I apologize again for the long delay but am hearing that the fix should be coming soon. I will provide specific dates and the app version for the fix once I find out. Thank you for your continued patience, it is greatly appreciated.

Well another update last night Still not fixed
Best Answer

Erick, thanks for you apology, but it's pretty empty at this point.

There is no evidence at all that you or "your team" is doing anything at all to resolve it. I no longer believe that you are even really plugged in to "the team" else you would know what was in the release notes and planning and be able to give an update. You always are as surprised as we are when a release comes out and it isn't fixed. So, while I can appreciate you have a role to respond to comments on the forum, there is no evidence you are actively trying to work this to resolution - olny the occassional patronizing update in the thread.

Sorry if that sounds harsh, but it is what it is.

The one-star train is out of the Fitbit station. Everyone go look at Google Play's rating system for Fitbit. More than half are one Stars right now. I reiterate the best way to get a real development team on Android at Fitbit is to continually give it one Stars. The moderators are Pleasant but they are here to hold you off from really complaining and ruining their business. Continue the one stars and it will get better or they will be out of business

Custom logging seems to be working today in the food section. I have been highly critical and still am quite concerned for the overall health of the Android Fitbit app. However for those of you interested in attempting to use the custom food logging you should try again today.

Have youvtri3d logging a custom meals with more than one ingredient/component? It still doesn't work. Hasnt worked since 2.27. If you create a custom food with out multiple components, that does work but that hasn't been the issue.
