Fitbit Update 10/26/2016: This issue has been fixed by updating to the Android app, version 2.36.
To tidy up the Android board, I am closing this thread from further conversation. If this issue pops up again, please create a new post and reference this one. Thank you for your patience!
Fitbit Update 07/18/16: Several users have reported that they are unable to log pre-existing custom meals via the Android app, version 2.29 as the calories for the meal are missing when attempting to log. Check out my screenshots below.
I've sent the information over to our Product Specialist Team who've gotten this in front of our engineering team for further investigation. When I hear an update from them, I will make sure to share it with everyone here.
In the meantime, I suggest logging custom meals via the online Dashboard at Fitbit.com until this has been resolved.
I just started using fitbit. Made my custom plan online. Wasted alot of time trying to get it to show up on my android app. Then I found this thread. Please fix soon. Very disapointing.

Hey everyone -- I have brought this issue back up to our Android team who confirmed that it is still being worked on. I apologize for how long it is taking to implement this fix, but hope you're able to take advantage of the current workaround here. More info to come!
Best AnswerVersion 2.3.4 (9/21) - still not fixed. Erick - if it helps -- a custom food (single item) logs fine, but not a custom meal (composed of multiple items).
And -- Erick -- we know you're just the messenger, but this is a really frustrating issue, especially for those of us in the software business. Thanks for being our voice!

@SunsetRunner Thank you for your report, I greatly appreciate it. Also, I totally understanding that this can be frustrating but I am making sure that your voice and everyone else in this thread, is being heard. I will have more updates to share with everyone once I hear something new. Again, thank you for your patience and report.
Best AnswerI'm having the same problem...
There was an android update a couple of days ago, and my list of custom meals shows up with zero calories. When I hit save, there is nothing recorded.
Help, we need a fix for this.
Thanks
HI
I am still unable to log custom meals on my android device. Has anyone looked into this issue?
(It did work prior to the recent android update.)
When I attempt to log a meal, it shows up as zero calories. (Not bad for calorie counting, but far from accurate.)
Thanks

Thanks for all this information @rsp, if you're only experiencing this on the Android Fitbit app, before considering further options, try to logout from the application, then reboot your phone and log back in to the Fitbit App as a troubleshooting step. I hope this helps, keep me posted if you're still getting zero calories for your custom foods.
Best AnswerHi David
Your suggestion was worth a try, but unfortunately there was no change.
Previously constructed custom meals still show up correctly in my list on the android, but when I click on the meal (to add in as intake), it shows as 1 meal with zero calories.
Other suggestions?

Any news on the developers progress?
FWIW - since it appears the devs have no interest in fixing this, here's the workaround I'm using --
I'm taking advantage of the fact that the app WILL add a custom food, (or a "meal" so long as that meal consists of only 1 item). So for each "meal" I had created in the past, I:
- renamed that meal to have "meal" at the end of the name (on the odd chance that they someday fix this feature) and noted the total calories;
- I then created a new custom food with that calorie total. I named this the same as the meal above but without "meal" at the end.
Example:
Existing meal: Renamed to "Steel Cut Oats (Meal)", consisting of 3 ingredients, at 400 calories.
New custom food: "Steel Cut Oats", also at 400 calories.
This is hokey, but pretty simple and hopefully will keep me from cursing the fitbit devs every day.
