I'm given the impression that some users have this already so I'm asking does it work?
I have an android 5 phone so 3.4 will be the last update I will get. Does this fix the notifications of calls and texts?
Does the GPS work? Does it synch?
I don't want to update to something that needs further updates that they are making it unable for me to receive.
I am one of the charge 2 owners who luckily didn't download the firmware bomb they sent out. So honest opinions gratefully received. Thanks.
Best AnswerHello @Lilbiddy I very much doubt that 3.4 is any where close to being released, I would have received it before the final release.
I am running the latest Beta release, updated today with version 3.31 build 30243426
On the 28th I received build 30243420
So far everything is working fine on the Galaxy S9
I'm still stuck on 2.95 because anything 3.0 and newer doesn't send text messages to my Fitbit blaze, but everything else works.
Just use a mirror and install the last version that works and disable auto updates. The community won't help (moderator edited my post to remove the details that made it useful for the developers) and the company doesn't care, so rock whatever version you have till the Fitbit dies and then buy a different brand.
@Rich_Laue, thanks for the update. Being in England there is often quite a lag in things finally reaching me. So that's why I never load anything without checking here. Also why my charge 2 still works.
@pizzaboy192, I still have 2.63 on my Kindle for emergencies.
Cheers guys.
Best Answer@Lilbiddy Fitbit does not have an app for the Kindle. The app you are using has been ported over by a third party.
As for version 3.4 Fitbit has not released a beta version to public beta users and no final 3.4 release has been released.
Hi @Rich_Laue
I am expecting the new android app version to because Fitbit posted this message on August 22 or 27. Did I miss something?
I have a 3 yr old blaze using a samsung s9+ with no txt msg for months...i am grateful for everything else working
Best AnswerBoy do you have an old phone, I can't even remember running Android v7.xx.
I don't know what you may have missed, what version is availible in the Play Store?
I just checked the help docs and see last week Fitbit started rolling out version 3.4
I probably got lost in translation... I understood from an earlier post, you said that Fitbit was not rolling out Android app version 3.4.
Phone's only from 2016, not that old, right 🤔 ? I hold what I have 😀
Best AnswerThere's still a lot of OEMs using 6.0 for their shipping OS. Microcenter has 5-6 of them on their shelf.
Best Answer@Rich_Laue, fitbit 2.63 is what was on the Amazon app store. All I care is it has been a RELIABLE back up whenever the current fitbit app lets me down.
Hi @SunsetRunner, referring to my original post, you say your wife has 3.4. Does it work? Has she got functioning messaging to her fitbit and does it stay connected for GPS etc?
All information gratefully received. Thanks.
Best AnswerHi yes, it works fine. She gets notifications fine but has never used the connected GPS so wouldn't know about that part.
@SunsetRunner, thanks for the update. I can't get 3.4 yet and I will never get 3.5 as I use android 5 but I am sure others will want to know this.
Best AnswerHi @Lilbiddy
Yesterday evening I got Android app 3.5 (20243427), I had version 3.3.1 (20213420). So it seems some people got version 3.4 and some skipped it.
For the moment it works fine and seems to synchronize a bit faster.
On my Samsung tablet (Android 5.0.2 and a Fitbit One connected) I still have app version 3.1.1 too.
