I have identical runs last week using GPS on my smartphone (Android/Huawei) were the distance has measured at 4.99 miles and 6.24. Also a 5k I did the week before measured 2.6 miles. Confused??

@Andrew81 Welcome to the Community. Sorry for the delayed reply.
Thanks for the details mentioned. All devices with GPS sensors require a direct path to GPS satellites to calculate location. A weak GPS signal might affect the accuracy of your route and other activity data. Your device uses your step count to calculate distance until it finds a signal, so the total distance calculated for a workout may be slightly less accurate when GPS isn't available for the entire time.
I would like you to try the troubleshooting in this article: How do I use GPS on my Fitbit device? Could you confirm that your GPS signal is always connected?
Keep me posted.
