Samsung Galaxy S7 compatibility

Anyone else had this problem / know a solution? When I search for pairable devices on my Galaxy S7, my FitBit Charge is not found. I did a restart of both the phone and the Charge with no success. Any suggestions? 🙂 Thanks!!

agreed, what kind of tech company sells a device that should be able to sync with a mobile device (as marketed) and then when the device doesn't work properly tell you "oh well just use your computer instead"...hmmm

If it takes more than 8 months for a tech company to be compatible with the best samsung device out there (S7) - it simply means it was never on their priority list to begin with! 😞

I just found this page as I have been dealing with the same issues and searching for solutions. My old LG g2 worked fine and synced all day with my Charge HR. Not so lucky syncing with the Samsung Galaxy S7. I cannot even find it with my Bluetooth no matter how many times I restart, etc. A bit frustrating to get best phone available and realize it will not work with Fitbit device.

unavailable when it buzzes. Just getting tired of it all.

Thanks LanuzaFitbit for looking into this and your response. Looking forward to get back on Fitbit soon after such a long break due to this issue / delay. 

On a separate note, do you know why all new iphones are compatible by default from day one but not Samsung phones considering Samsung is the major alternative and competitor to iphone?

I received a reply to a direct email and their solution was to always keep "location" enabled on my GS7. I do not wish to do that. I only turn it on when needed .... and to sync my fitbit.

That will let it sync, but not pair with your device. The issue is the Bluetooth pairing, not the syncing.

the fitbit app doesn't support Mobile track on the Samsung 7 either...unlike any and all iphones 😞 that too by default..

I don't know the reason for not supporting mobile tracker on Galaxy S7 Edge. I used a Windows Mobile 10 device in the past and I was able to track my steps and everything else. Now on Android, I can not see any advantages of Fitbit to SHealth. Is this an issue that you are aware of and that is going to be fixed?

I have a Fitbit HR and a Gear Fit2.  I like the Fit2's capabilities and waterproofing better, so I'm going to use it instead of the HR.  I'd still use the Fitbit app if it would work with Mobile Tracker on the S7 Edge, but since it still doesn't I guess I don't fit anywhere in the Fitbit world.  Sorry Fitbit.

I read in another thread that Mobile Tracker is not working because of a missing hardware component.

I am wondering if this would also limit any product of Fitbit. I mean will the bracelet track my steps instead?

It is hard to believe there is a missing hardware component. All other apps, and samsung's built in Sfit app works to track and count steps on my S7 so it seems like all required hardware is built into the phone. Fitbit has to really speed up the software development required to make this happen or otherwise just announce officially that they will not support the S7. Either one.

If you look in the help section for compatibility with various phones, the Samsung Galaxy s7 and S7 edge are listed.

If I enter the S7 into the search bar, I am able to find the S7 and the S7 Edge. Mobile Tracker isn't listed there. Try to search for the Lumia 930, this is my old device and it has the Mobile Tracker feature.

In my option Fitbit only uses the API for the mobile tracker that comes with the hardware component of some devices. So having the S7 without a Fitbit device will not work, because this would require a customization of the current App and I don't think that they will do it. If I have a look at other Apps, it is possible to track steps, but Fitbit wants to earn money..
