Hi,
I just recently bought the new fitbit alta only to be sadly disappointed that it will not connect to my phone? Am I doing something wrong? It says it isn't compatible, so does that mean it will never sync? It is still not setup and I don't have a computer or laptop.. trying to find answers before I will have to return it...

Welcome to the Community @ACAIVY. Our team still testing the compatibility of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Currently, this phone is not a compatible one. I recommend setting up your new Alta with a Computer or with a Compatible Mobile Device.

I too purchased the new Alta FitBit thinking this product would be compatible with the Samsung Note 5.  It's compatible to many other Samsung products.  I hope there is something done soon.  The whole point was to be able to check my stats on the app through out the day.

Same problem with Alta.  Seems that since the first Note 5 sync problem posted appears to be back in OCT2015, and nothing done to fix the syncing problem, by fotbit, they either can't or won't make it work.  Very disappointing.  I did spend time with very courteous tech support, which was forwarded to the next level.  They could not make it work/sync.  Had to take it back to BestBuy, before the 15 days ran out.

Any idea when the note 5 would become compatible with the alta?

I got caught in the same trap, my new chargeHR won't sinc with my Galaxy Note 5. Now wishing I would have stuck with Jawbone, it worked great with my Galaxy Note 5, until I over submerged it. 🙂
Uess someone has a better suggestion, I'll return the
fitbit and purchase another Jawbone. Thanks in advance for any advice. Mike

Hey @Tao_Rider welcome to the Community! Smiley Very Happy I can't guarantee that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is a compatible device because our engineering team still working on it, however you can try to set it up your tracker, it might pair and sync now. If not, as @AlejandraFitbit mentioned, keep an aye on the compatible devices list to use a different mobile device to sync.

Let me know the outcome.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and it syncs with my Alta. I'm having problems with it automatically  syncing my sleep, though.

@TerriST how are you today? It sounds great that your tracker is syncing properly with your Samsung Galaxy Note 5. If you have questions or further comments, let me know, OK? Smiley Wink

@Boone60, so it is your sleep the one that is not syncing?

Have a good day guys!

I purchased the alta a few weeks ago, and had no problem with syncing to my Galaxy Note 5, until earlier this morning. It's not syncing at all with phone. My phone is only showing my info from yesterday and prior, and not showing any info since midnight this morning. I've tried rebooting alta, restarting phone, turning on and off Bluetooth on phone, and nothing has worked. It's shows that the alta is connected with phone, but when I try and sync via phone, it continues to show yesterday's info. Any more suggestions? If I Uninstall app then reinstall, will I lose all my data? Do you think that would even solve the problem? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I am so disappointed that my fitbit alta will not work with my Galaxy note 5!!  It will sync but will not do anything with phone and messaging!  I am mad that it works with all the other Galaxy notes and not with the 5.  You have had a longtime to fix this problem!!!  What is the time schedule for resolving this problem!!

Thank you

It won't work. I tried all that stuff too. Someone from fitbit told me to just wait until they fix the app that will include note 5. So in the meantime we are throwing away our money as we continue to be told they are fixing their app for note 5.

Everyone -- The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is currently not a supported device. Although the Note 5 hasn't been fully tested and listed as supported, it wouldn't hurt to attempt to set up your Note 5 for syncing with these steps. Per personal experience, my T-Mobile Galaxy Note 5 is syncing and fully functional with call/text notifications although not listed as supported. Depending on your device, all features may not be fully functional. Keep an eye on this list as it will be listed there once fully tested.

Everyone -- UPDATE: The Galaxy Note 5 is now listed as a supported device here. I recommend trying to sync again and/or following these troubleshooting tips if you continue to experience issues.
