Severe battery drain April 2019 update

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've noticed severe battery drain since April 2019 update, as the fitbit app was the culprit last time my Moto G6 Plus had this issue and it was resolved by deleting and reinstalling the app, unfortunately doing the same has not fixed the problem, after fully charging last night I was down to 15%... Any help with this issue greatly appreciated...Screen Shot 2019-04-06 at 9.42.18 AM.png

Hello @Kwbrt.

Thanks for sharing that you have tried to uninstall the reinstall the app and also for sharing that picture.

In this case I'd like to ask you to confirm what Android version you are running and the Fitbit app version you have installed on your phone.

I ;look forward to your reply.

I know how you feel Kwbert.  I bought a Charge 3 and paired it with my LG K20V.  I was able to go almost a week on a battery charge.  With the Charge 3 it wouldn't last a day.  I tried all of the fixes in the msg boards nothing worked.  I read all the "problem solved" posts.  There is a problem and it is not solved.  I Deleted the app and the phone charge lasted.  I finally gave up and bought a dongle and started using the computer version and deleted the phone app forever.  Life is better now.

I ran the new update for my Fitbit Charge 3 last night.

I have been used to a single battery charge lasting 6 days, today it has lasted 10 hours.

I was excited to see an update available as I was hoping it might solve the problem of my Fitbit not synching with my iPhone, and notifications not being received on my Fitbit, both of which worked fine for the first 6 days of ownership.

Now.... the situation is worse than ever. I am seriously disappointed and will be looking for a refund if I can’t get it sorted QUICKLY

Same issue.  After messing with it for far too long (re-install app, restart device, basically all things suggested by Fitbit) I called and they stated they will send me a new one within 2 business days - we will see.

VERY frustrating.  I shouldn’t have updated.  Darn update had weak to zero release notes.

Thank you for your help.
Not sure what I did to rectify the battery drain issue, but from the very next day this problem has not occurred again.
I did, however, have a major problem with not being able to receive notifications of messages and calls (although this had worked for the first six days of ownership). I followed all the advice given by Fitbit but without success. My phone was showing connected in my Bluetooth settings but when I clicked on notifications in the Fitbit app it kept saying it was not paired. When I clicked on setup, it just showed as searching and would not progress. I had this really frustrating problem for about 6 weeks and was at the end of my tether when the update came through, so the battery drain issue was very untimely!!
I found the solution from another Fitbit user commenting on a post. The suggestion was to go to Bluetooth settings, click on Fitbit connected device, click on forget this device. Then go to Fitbit app, click on notifications, click on pair device. Once that had done, click on notifications, then notification apps.... it worked! And has done for over a week now! I am finally getting to enjoy my new Fitbit!

Please pass on the above to anyone also experiencing the same problem.

Thank you
