I suppose there was an update. The app presents sleep data differently.  Have others noticed this?

I miss seeing how long episodes of awake, light, REM and deep sleep are

I totally agree. These new charts are hard to decipher. I prefer the old format where you could see days at a time without scrolling back a day at a time. The bars were much easier than these graph lines. Seriously going to be looking to switch brands when I upgrade.

---------------------------

I came to this forum hoping to find a way to get the old format back. I hate this new update. I used to check stats most days. Now I hardly bother. So what am I even wearing this Fitbit for.

The only thing I can suggest is to search YouTube. But therein lies the same problem. You end up spending your quality time researching and trying to make sense of the downgrade to the sleep tracker. Time you won’t get back.

I don’t think there is any post here where Google has explained why they made the change and that speaks volumes about how they view their customers.

I am not enjoying the look of the updated sleep tracker.  I have tried to use it for awhile now thinking that I just needed to get used to it.  Please bring back the old tracker style!!!!  If it is not changed I will be looking for a new product.  The recent Fitbit app updates have been terrible.  This change has made it basically unusable for me.  Not impressed..

The old version was so user friendly, and I had years of data to compare.  The new UI is simply terrible in terms of usability, value in graphs is destroyed. The ONLY reason I stuck with Fitbit was for the simple but extraordinary sleep summary. With that fine. I have no reason to stick with Fitbit. Can I uninstall or replace the interface?  If not,  I’m moving on. Big mistake.

I no longer have RESTLESS at all.
And the stats for the week and the month are not displayed correctly either. And it tells me I'm awake when I'm not and I'm asleep when I'm not even in bed. They really messed up.

I find the new graph of sleep data unfriendly and not useful. Please revert to original graph. Otherwise I will buy a different product that is better to use. Thank you.

Nope. And if they are, the moderators been instructed to not interact with
our concerns and complaints. So, we've been left in the dark.

THOUSANDS of forum posts, and no acknowledgement that they are willing to
revisit the last update with regard to (1) continued data reporting
inaccuracy, (2) demolished any user-friendliness and (3) impossible for
people with sight issues to be able to discern the presentation.

What gets me is that I had a class in both high school and college leaning
which types of graphs are used to display certain kinds of data. Different
graphs for financial, science, etc and yet their team has no knowledge of
this. They got caught up in the technology of what they can make a watch do,
but totally lost the concept of SIMPLICITY and how the graphs they were
using in the past perfectly explained the data. They fixed what was not
broken and someone(s) refuse to look at this goof and rethink the whole
thing.

Very short-sighted, unprofessional and uncaring of what it could do to their
bottom line.

So sad, Fitbit/Google.

Possibly a case where a programmer solicited zero end user feedback and just programmed something they thought was cool.  Unfortunately very few users think it is cool; most think the data is now unreadable.  And who thinks pulling a 'bar' across one's phone is useful or even shows anything when your hand is covering the data?  That little change was probably weeks in making.  What a bleeping nuisance and extremely poor use of programming resources!  GOOGLE buying Fitbit was an extremely bad deal for us because their lack of action tells you what they think of complaints.  Nada.

I agree, which is why I'll will be replacing fitbit with a new watch and
app.

I have found that if you press the up and down lines the graph will show the clock times for awake, light sleeping and so on.
A little extra button pushing, but it’s solved my original complaint.
Still…liked the original graphics better.

The sleep timeline clearly shows lot of fake awake time. The awake zones with dotted lines are the only original ones, rest is fake. It calculates wrong sleep duration for every day. Is it same for everyone?

Has anybody with an I phone got the old sleep format back with a very recent update?

Best Answer
Yes, most of the time for me. Accuracy is very inconsistant and inaccurate.

Android also updated yesterday and today and I see no difference in the sleep protocols. Certainly not to the displays.

Al I get now on sleep tracking is Awake, Restless and Sleep. Totally useless. The whole point of tracking sleep is to see REM and deep sleep which no longer appears.
