I suppose there was an update. The app presents sleep data differently. Have others noticed this?
I miss seeing how long episodes of awake, light, REM and deep sleep are

They make us work for the data. Most of it is gone now and what's left is a
mess of unreadable charts, but did you know that if you hold your finger
down in each of the sleep stages, that it produces a vertical slidable line
that tells you the times you were in each state? NOT totals. And BENCHMARK
shows no times at all.just a graphic displaying if we're in the
neighborhood. Totally useless.
Hope this helps a little. Sort of link a band aid on a gushing wound.

Have you purchased the Ring yet?
I read a very negative and thorough review of it, and considering the price,
chose to not buy.
If you now own it, I'd be interested in your comparison to the previous
Fitbit sleep functions and if you're happy.
Certainly, if it's a lot of work, never mind.
But if you feel like contributing, lots of us would be interested.
Thanks and good luck.

No updates in Play Store for me as of 5/31. So no change.
Since moderators are not replying, I'm assuming that no one cares on a
company level.
It would be a fantastic coup if they made an announcement and fixed it all
based on everyone's complaints. But I'm not holding my breath. Still..it
would be the right thing to do from OUR viewpoint. But that doesn't seem to
be an important viewpoint. We'll see.

agree wholeheartedly. Not holding my breath that gaggle fixes things based on user feedback. Altho it seems like we have more than millions of responses, it must be next to nothing (of users) as far as they are concerned. Disturbing on so many levels. grr

Thanks, I know this, but my sleep is split into like FIVE chunks. Do you know what a pain this is every day? (Told you I have sleep issues. )
Could not agree more! They'll have me looking for a different device if they don't fix this soon. Why in the world would they change something to make it LESS useful???

Recently you updated your sleep app and it changed from the pink/blue graph which showed when you had different types of sleep. This changed to a graph that was no longer coloured but incredibly difficult to read and interpret as the writing went across the graph. The tracking in the app has now changed AGAIN and doesn't give you an accurate visual anymore. It also does not indicate how much light/REM/deep/sleep you have had. Finding it pretty useless and ready to ditch my fitbit unless your tracking of sleep improves. The original coloured tracking version was the best.

I took off the Fitbit and I am all Oura Ring. Takes a little while to understand the app but I like it a lot

Can we go back before the update? Ever hear of “if It’s not broke don’t fix it”? It worked before, no update needed. Well it’s broke now after update and needs fixed! The Sleep Duration Versa2 is awful now. I’ve tried 3xs before to get help “fixing” it. It still doesn’t calculate correctly. It’s not me, it’s you!

Edit: After posting, I see that the current version doesn't have the visual representation of sleep and restlessness like the old version.
Original: I agree the interface is more difficult to read, but isn't this what you are looking for? (Tap on Week then scroll down below the graph.)
The paid version isn't better. I signed up for the free trial because I thought the same thing, but the interface is exactly the same (you just get more information, like sleeping heart rate and a monthly sleep profile).
It took me more than a month after the update for me to figure this out (TERRIBLE UI), but you can still see specific times of awake/restless, light, deep, and REM. You have to tap AND HOLD, and then you can slide back and forth. It's much clunkier, but it's such a relief to at least have some functionality that I thought was lost.
I wish it had taken me less than a month to discover tapping and holding to see sleep stages! My benchmarks do show times, though. This is on the Android app.

The same thing happened to me then reverted to the useless version the next day. Obviously, they CAN revert back to the version most of us want even though they SAY that they can't. They just don't care what we want.
No. They are ignoring us figuring we will just give up and accept this last major downgrade to top off the other downgrades. I've narrowed down my replacement choices. I already know several people (including the one that introduce me to Fitbit) that ditched their Fitbits.
Thanks for saving me time. I was going to check Samsung out. I found two or three prospective replacements. I just need to see if I can see them in person, before I buy one. Then Fitbit will get trashed.
@Counselor123 I never downloaded it. It just popped up on its own.
@Sgbd1 Unfortunately for us Google IS in charge now.
I did a search of "sleep trackers" on the internet which brought up more choices than fitness tracker searches. One actually had a screenshot of the sleep tracking screen. It looked so close to what Fitbit USED to show, it will most likely be my next device. I want to see if I can find one in person to check it out more closely. It's bigger than I want, but that's a sacrifice I'll have to make to get a decent sleep tracker as well as fitness tracker.
@Walk61 I already know friends and family members that dumped Fitbit over this. One was the former coworker that introduced me to Fitbit. I'm not far behind. The whole reason I bought a Fitbit was because of their sleep tracking. Every month, when I go to my sleep doctor, we would scroll through my sleep record for the month. This device is now useless now for my medical issues. Thanks Google for damaging my health even further.
@Counselor123 You nailed it exactly!

Was it after a reboot? After an update? On one device but not the other?
I've seen a couple of people have purchased the Aura Ring, but I've read a
few reviews about its inaccuracy, so I've not purchased yet.
If you find some good options with SLEEP data and presented well, let us
know. But it's hard to see their presentations unless we first buy the
product, no?
Good luck! Maybe when such a watch is purchased there's a good return policy
so if we use the new watch for a month and don't like the sleep
presentation, we can return.
Good for you! My benchmark still does not show times, only a gray graph that
displays the neighborhood of where someone my age often is, but no numbers
to compare to the numbers for that days stats.
Yes, I've alerted some folks who didn't realize this vertical bar..because
Fitbit communication is so poor.you have to DIG deeply, not knowing what
you're looking for in order to find tips that you didn't even know you
wanted!
It's part of the philosophy of, "lets change the software and not tell the
customers. Let them figure it out. We'll tell them somewhere where it's not
obvious.
BTW, last month Apple publicly apologized for an ad campaign and commercial
that was offensive to some. American Airlines has just announced that the
change that they recently made in their Loyalty Points program hast been
WALKED BACK and discontinued because of so may complaints and unhappy
customers and that their customers are the most important thing to them.
What an idea that Google could have such guts as well as marketing wisdom.
When I find that AA article, I'll post. Google should know better.
No, it's MUCH more than that for so many people if you read all the posts.
I just leaned this morning that my sleep stats for today AND the last 30
days are IDENTICAL. How could the average for the past month be the same as
today's numbers?
The programming is dead in the water and unless they are putting together a
Christmas surprise soon, we'll never see the algorithms working properly
again.
If all the programmers were smart, they would quit and develop their own
watch with all that Fitbit lost!

I agree! I dislike the new look. And that you can’t glide over a duration of time during sleep and see the stats on that 😞
06-04-2024 12:04
06-04-2024 12:04
Clicking on the sleep section used to take me to a page that showed a list of all previous days, too, listing the starting and ending times of each night’s sleep. That made it easier to compare trends with n sleep habits. Now it goes straight to the current day’s breakdown. And the diagram isn’t as visually appealing. GIVE ME THE OLD APP, PLEASE!

I tried a tracker from Amazon, I liked the sleep part of it but it lacked some other things in regards to messaging, which I use a lot. I sent it back and followed the instructions that someone posted on here and have the old version.
