Sleep stages stopped working

I have a Fitbit Charge 5 and my phone is a Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus. It hasn't been showing my sleep stages as of recent. I've done all your typical troubleshooting, and it still hasn't solved the problem. Has anyone run into this issue? Is an update needed to correct the problem?

I feel the main issue was applying sunscreen to my arms with the watch still on. I tried to not get some around it, but it must of with sweating and all. Just gotta be more mindful of what I apply to my skin in that area, and cleaning protocols of the Fitbit itself. Hopefully that helps with anyone else having issues and trying to troubleshoot 🤓

@carlcapture , a warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for your message and efforts.

The following conditions can prevent the recording of sleep stages:

- You record your sleep using the app instead of the tracker's automatic sleep detection.
- The tracker's battery is almost empty when you go to bed (below 25%). This prevents a regular recording of the heart rate.
- You use the metal bracelet while sleeping
- You sleep less than 3 hours.
- The bracelet is too loose or too tight on the wrist. You should be able to put your index finger between the bracelet and your arm without much resistance, so that your heart rate is recorded regularly and the sleep phases can be recognized.

If you tap the recording that doesn't show you sleep stages, you should get a message explaining why you didn't get any. What is this message?

It was for inconsistent heart-rate when I sleep. It records it fine during the day. I don't see why it wouldn't do as well at night. Would switching the sensitivity help? I have the setting at normal.

@carlcapture , Thank you for your reply!

The recommended setting is to be in Normal. If you put it on sensitive, most probably you won't get any sleep record, as some movements during the sleep ,ight be recorded as if you were awake.
Try restarting the Charge 5 and wear it a bit tighter/looser during your sleep, to see how it goes
